Renewing with TalkTalk ultra fiber optic ( UFO )

Having the fastest broadband is good  but there is a nasty surprise if you dont check your bill.
we have just renewed our contract with talk talk for the 3rd time i was ahead of the game in contacting them this time they wanted to hike my bill from the £22.50 To £27.50 or pay the full rate of £37 per month , I said i would have to see what we could afford as money was tight . Two weeks later i get a email saying that i could have the contract for 18 months for the price Of £25 per month starting when my old contracted ended in September . Bear in mind there NO PRICE increase for the term of your contract , we have just got our new bill for October saying £26.92 . I was told that was the charge for making changes to my contract before it ended  i told them it was offered by them to start at the end of my new contract.
After a conversation i have got the £1.92 refunded  my advice is check your bills very closely as they think they can get away with this . We have a phone line but dont use it  for normal calls  just the free phone numbers . So i knew that there was something amiss with the bill funny how i got i have just spoken to my supervisor & they have said to refund it  . Has anybody else had these sneaky charges added to there account

  • It'll have been an automated issue ... a person won't have done anything other than implement the change on the system - perhaps they implemented it a day or 2 early (e.g. on a Friday when your previous contract didn't expire until the Sunday), so the computer system calculated the early termination / change charge.
