    Good news on the boiler.

I often do a chicken for Sunday roast because I get so much out of it, often do a stir fry or pasta bake with leftovers, sandwiches for lunch and the dog gets scraggly bits. I can usually be found digging about in Tesco for largest one I can find 👍

  • I think it’s the most versatile roast to do. Hubby got a giant one so we’ve got lots of chicken on the menu this week! Also decided to try a new recipe this week (wild times, I know!) of bbq mince so I hope that turns out well enough to become a regular meal. It’s done in the slow cooker so ideal for my work days.

Spent £76.72 on this weeks food shop. Will need a loaf of bread but that’s only 49p to spend on the week. I’ve put £50 more to one side. £220 now 👏🏻

Had the upsets of all upsets before our walk today from Bug, he didn’t want to put on his puddle suit so it’s promptly been put on eBay. It is a little small so I might as well sell it during the right season to use it, lots of puddle jumping done in his dungarees regardless. Have 9 watchers on it already which is surprising! So hopefully it’ll sell. £1 max selling fees this weekend too but I’m afraid nothing else springs to mind to sell
  • 28 watchers and 3 bids already 😯 didn’t realise I was selling a peacock dress 😅

Roast is on, a load of washing is in, house is relatively tidy and Bug is colouring in a house I made him from a box that spent 4 days (??) as a rocket 🤗

Old fashioned TT of £2.27. Bread bin is empty so will pop to a shop tomorrow. Bless Hubby he took the shopping list very seriously, and I’d left a couple things off that we just buy each week. Bread was one of them 🙈
  • Parents went to the shops and popped by the bread that we needed so saved a second family at the shops. They also refused my 50p so no spend there. Sure I will pay it back at some stage as we do our food shops different days, and tend to use each other as a doorstep top up service and neither of us accept repayment 😅

Bug's puddle suit has another bid and almost 43 watchers, I'm honestly kind of flabbergasted?? I always used buying certain things branded as an excuse telling Hubby we can resell easier once Bug has outgrown them. But I always thought I was lying to buy cute stuff!!

Small TT of 51p. Adds up though, right?

Tea tonight is an easy one for Bug, will fry up yesterdays chicken with chips and beans (a bit boring but, that's kids taste buds) Going to make mine and Hubby's portion into a sticky honey mustard sauce with rice. Have some spring onions to use I can chop up on top.

Beast from the East Mark 2 has hit us this morning. Bug is very excited and probably getting unrealistic expectations of what every Winter will be like .

  • Small spend yesterday for craft materials which if they come in time can double up as Valentine gifts. Will need a top up shop today, just a loaf of bread. I think we must have bread pixies?? Will do a TT once I’ve been to the shops to round the bank down.

OP pot is at £224.42 🥳

Still have left over chicken! Meal plan is getting pushed along and pushed along 😅

Quiet day today, will plan our daily walk to loop around to the shop and have a couple new resources to try. Let Bug pick something he’d like to buy with the money from his puddlesuit and he’s picked walkie talkies for our walks, the bids are already high enough to afford it 👏🏻
  • Very small TT of 88p this morning

Spoke to my brother yesterday who suggested we turn off the electricity to our immersion heater as I’d mentioned our electricity bill was astronomical, also unplugged our wireless doorbell as if I knocked the unit it sparked up 😅 so taken our meter readings and will see if there’s any change come mid March!

Just whole boiling some potatoes for fried potatoes with our tea tonight, Bug has requested we make toffee apples which we have all the bits for. So a NSD! Spent £3.21 on the top up shop yesterday too.

Not much else to report bar bitter disappointment yesterday at Repair Shop only being on for half and hour??
  • Hello!

Sorry for the huge gap in posting. Bug had a trip to A&E on Friday, he slipped on a patch of ice and hit his mouth. Thankfully all injuries were superficial. But following that we had a sickness bug run through the house which I can only assume we caught at the hospital as we haven’t been any other places bar the supermarket. Was a bit of a shock to the system being unwell if I’m honest! Everything kind of went out of the window and I lost track of the spending diary. On the plus side only being able to stomach a jam sandwich at best means the cupboards and freezers are still well stocked. Meal plan has not been touched but we’re back on plan tonight with a family favourite of mince crumble 😊

OP pot stands at £353.03 and I do feel I’ve frittered money away this last week. Bought a new frying pan (£22) had a takeaway last night as we felt hungry but no desire to cook. Just little things like that but I’ll nip them in the bud as lack of financial control will get me down if I’m not careful. But we have put over £100 away since I last posted so it’s not as bad as it was in my mind. When so many people are struggling at the moment to just get food on the table I need to count my blessings and be more realistic!

Anyhow, will get back to updating properly 😊 hope everyone is well!
