Hi please help ..my father recently passed away and had vascular dementia for some time ..After going through old paperwork I found a couple of letters addressed to myself from CCP Group UK, the latter had a cheque in dated 2014 ! I contacted the company to see if they would re-issue cheque and they declined saying it wasn’t cashed within six months .and the scheme had finished in 2017 😳I Haven’t lived at my parents Address since 2000 ? And yet they sent it to old address, so here my father lived with dementia and therefore did not pass the letter on ...so I could if I cashed the cheque and to be honest wasn’t even aware of claim ?? Is this a lost cause , or do I have a chance through exceptional circumstances to make a complaint ?

Make a complaint to who? If the scheme finished in 2017 then they will not open it just for you.
You were not aware of a claim - so you have not really lost anything have you?
My condolences over the loss of your father.0 -

Your title says PPI. This does not sound like PPI. You may wish to edit your title to reflect the correct product (to get the right audience to look at your post).

CCP Group sounds like a claims management firm unfortunately. They may have submitted the complaint for you and got the refund but yes the scheme is long since closed. Check with whoever the CCP was with (i.e. which bank/card issuer) and check whether they actually paid the CMC - if they did, you'd probably have a long winded (but valid) complaint that the firm took the refund cash and kept it alongside their cut, thus owe it to you and the scheme closing is irrelevant as they have the cash. If the bank/issuer didn't pay out or paid you directly, you could try a nice letter to the firm explaining the situation and politely ask if they would consider re-issuing the cheque given it was never cashed and you do at least have a valid reason. I suspect you may have accidentally signed up for one of those claims firms via a facebook link or something like that, I don't believe CCP policies were just refunded automatically.
