No idea sorry. I didn’t ask him for particulars but he said it was a private parking fine.0

MagnoliaT: I spoke to my bank about the same issue a few days ago as I have the same issue from a parking ticket, it doesn't mean you won't get a mortgage, they look at it on a case by case basis.1 -

Society nowadays seems to be littered with examples of people who just can't take personal responsibility for anything, largely because they've been told their entire lives that it's someone else's fault. As harsh as some of the responses can be on here, I think that if the thread poster actually takes them on board, they'll be a lot better off for it.1 -

I don't agree with the posters who say it's too late though. The OP should read the stickies on the Parking, Fines and Tickets board to see if the parking ticket was valid in the first place and if it wasn't apply to have the CCJ set aside.1 -

For those who are interested I saw him the other day and this is what he told me (I may have mis-understood).
The fines were for parking in a private car park. He did tell me the details but I didn't follow them all. They came to something like £900 (must have a been a few!)
A default CCJ was obtained which he knew nothing about having moved before it was applied for.
The first he knew was a bailiff turning up at his house and clamping his car. These bailiffs were High Court ones (he said it was the same firm that is on the TV). The CCJ was sent to the High Court for enforcement?
He had to pay up to get his car out. This was something like £2k.
He then applied to his local county court to get the judgement set aside which it was - he had a defence to the fines. The court ordered his money to be returned by the bailiff which it was.1
