Online Car Insurance Quotes Blocked

I am due to pass my driving test soon, so I have been looking on comparison sites etc to find a good quote and establishing which car would be best to buy for insurance, I was putting my correct details in as I thought that's what you should do, but it appears now that as I have been checking different cars, I'm now being refused certain quotes, is there any way to fix this or do you just have to call for quotes going forward? I'll be waiting until I've actually got a car lined up in future

If you are a brand new driver, and I assume young, dont be surprised if the comparison sites say some companies wont quote at all. I am a 36 year old and a couple of companies still wont quote for me for some reason.
You will just have to choose from the ones that will, not really much you can do about it except double check direct on their own websites.0 -
I'm 25 and a first time driver, a lot of ones one of comparison sites have been absolutely ridiculous, approaching on £500 a month for some
So I tried to go with direct line, the first quote was great and allowed monthly payments, but then I tried a different car that I had found for sale and all of a sudden it wouldn't let me go for monthly payments, and then I tried the original car again and it changed to double the price and no monthly payments
I'd read in a few places that if you change details on a quote then the sites algorithm assumes you to be a fraud and purposely increases the prices to prevent that
I'm just wondering if I called the company up when I eventually get the car, would they still give me the "fraud" rates or would it be brand new over the phone?0 -
Never heard of such a thing happening, every time my renewal comes up I changed my quote details probably 20 times on the comparison site to get the best price (changing job title etc) and have never found I'm suddenly not receiving quotes/prices change drastically.
Try browsing in incognito mode/private mode so cookies etc. won't be tracking your browsing, there is a chance that the prices are changing based on your consumer habits/apparent desperation.
Ringing up the insurer is probably a terrible idea, I've never experienced them offering preferential rates over the phone and can imagine it is even worse for first time drivers. A few years back my transaction for Sainsbury's car insurance failed online (was something like £55/month) and when I rang them to go through it manually the best price they could give me was something ridiculous like £150/month - they wouldn't budge even though the comparison websites were cheaper.0 -

Going incognito with real details won't help.
They don't need your IP address - you've given them your name and date of birth.
If you want to play around with quotes don't use real details. You won't get an accurate quote but it will give you an idea of which cars are more expensive to insure etc2 -
I've used completely different details too and it's still giving duff quotes0

Can you clear all cookies? It may not make a difference but will take away a possibility.
Can you wait some time before trying any more quotes? If too many quotes in too short a period has caused an issue, then it seems as though time is the only healer.0 -
I've cleared the cookies too I'm afraid
I think it may be just a time thing, but it does also seem to be an ip address thing, my friend (who has insurance) used my internet to find a quote and it tripled his as well, but when he did it at his own house later on, he got a better deal than the one he's already got!0 -

use a VPN maybe?"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"
