    Home purchase.
  • 7th October: Submitted all the required documents to Habito
8th October: Habito submitted our full application to HSBC and we are in queue now for the initial review. Our DIP has been given to us. Hard search recorded
9th October: Valuation booked for 13th October
13th October: Valuation completed! Matches the agreed purchase price!
14th October: Mortgage offer received!!!!! offer documents sent via email

Hope this helps whoever! :) Very happy and impressed with this turnaround time with HSBC. Literally 6 days if you count from 8th October! And two days of weekend in between. Technically 3 days only.. thats amazing. Mind you our application was straight forward. Both of us full time employed with deposit from our savings. So luckily it was smooth
Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!

Applied for a 85% LTV with HSBC

    27th Sept - AIP
28th Sept - Completed further details, agreed to full credit check and submitted application
29th Sept - sent details for online portal for documents to be submitted
3rd Oct - final document uploaded and all submitted

Online it says decision obtained. Does anyone know what this means?

    Update:

8th October - received phone call from underwriter with a couple of questions. Said decision will be a couple of days. Status online has changed to manual referral. Fingers crossed!
    Update:

9th October - valuation took place (HSBC never told us)
12th October - rang to find out what was happening and got told valuation was complete and matches the house price but it has now gone into a queue for review by a credit officer. Could take 10-15 days......
    Update:-
18/19/20- offer received today by text. The 10-15 days never materialised and was quicker than they said
  • Had DIP
Broker sent in Full App 11th Sept
Got email from Broker she got email to say its now with the underwriters on 16th Oct.
    5 weeks so far
I'm Self employed with income in Ireland and Northern Ireland totalling £38k so 2 diff currencies and Husband is in full time employment £13k,
The process has been a real.pain in the !!!!!!, took 4 weeks to even get DIP and missed out on our first house choice because of it.
Our situation is different than most but I'm getting so impatient! Also need to be out of current house by 2nd Nov!! Gonna have to shut up business and move in with parents until we get into new house...if we get it that is!

Im in the same situation as you. 2 applicants. 1 SE with US income and 1 employed in the UK full time no furlough. Applied with HSBC on 3 September. Still being reviewed by underwriters and no questions as of yet. Broker says itll be another 4-5 working days. Im concerned if they ask for more documents, per their own timelines, it will take another 3 weeks for another round of information.

Very similar here as well. Partner has foreign income. Application submitted 18 September. Still with underwriters as of today, one question asked 10 days ago and still nothing. Broker has chased and been told 5-10 more days. It’s horribly stressful and I don’t know what we will do if it comes back no.
  • Hsbc is about to remove its 1.89% 80% LTV product (and possibly others too) by tomorrow evening. Just a heads up to anyone still contemplating to apply. Not much time left
Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!
