Here was my timeline, by the way. Application via broker. Service levels at the time were average of 6 working days from app to offer:
    Offer Made (Rejected): 22/08/2020
    2nd Offer Made: 23/08/2020
    Offer Accepted: 24/08/2020
    DIP (HSBC): 26/08/2020
Full Application: 04/09/2020 (85% LTV were taken off intermediary site on 26th)
    Application Approved: 08/09/2020
    Full Offer: 15/09/2020
That was absolutely quick. Did you apply through the broker you said or just on your own?
Yes, through a broker. It didn't seem quick at the time! I couldn't sleep until the offer came in.
  • Hello all,
So we have finally applied through a broker now! HSBC doesn't give away updates to us at all if we have applied through a broker which is really unfortunate and weird. (As its our application even though applied through anybody!)
So heres our timeline of it
7th October: Submitted all the required documents to Habito
8th October: Habito submitted our full application to HSBC and we are in queue now for the initial review. Our DIP has been given to us
Ll post more updates as we get them
Home buying yet again!! Fingers crossed!!

28th Sept - Completed further details, agreed to full credit check and submitted application
29th Sept - sent details for online portal for documents to be submitted
3rd Oct - final document uploaded and all submitted

Online it says decision obtained. Does anyone know what this means?

    Update:

8th October - received phone call from underwriter with a couple of questions. Said decision will be a couple of days. Status online has changed to manual referral. Fingers crossed!

Valuation was today. Only know that as the seller has text me. Didn’t know that it was booked from speaking to the bank and I spoke to them yesterday.

We weren't told anything by HSBC about a valuation, even though they formally approved our mortgage application a few days ago. Don't even know whether they did one.
