Let them take it to court, you show proof you didnt charge it back, and you win.
It's not that I don't think I'll win, but they've blocked my account and my partner's account is having issues as well so it'd be much more difficult to make food deliveries now.
I almost wish I could just pay it off and have it over and done with, you know?
Plenty of other outlets. Just Eat, Deliveroo to name but two.
Yes, but I used them for groceries. I can live without takeaways but the groceries can be difficult to come by.
Stores still offer their own grocery delivery services?
They said Uber is often cheaper because they frequently offer discount codes.

At the end of the day OP, I think you just need to weigh up the cost of paying this £21 against the cost of having to use alternate methods for grocery deliveries. In the long-run I suspect it's probably going to be cheaper to just pay it.

Personally I'd do a chargeback on the original transaction and pay the new one.
They can't really refuse the chargeback if they believe it's already been refunded.
Of course there is the possibility it's a different transaction than you think they are complaining about, but it should at least move the situation along.
Alternatively you could raise a complaint against paypal for not paying uber the money.

I don't understand why you showed them your bank statements if you paid with paypal...., if you paid it with your paypal balance then it wouldn't have gone anywhere near your bank account.

And then they'll just stop them using the service.

I'm not siding with Uber here but it's about picking your battles and I don't think the OP will win, overall, by fighting Uber.  At least not based on what they've said.  Sometimes you just have to swallow your pride, even though it stings, and get on with it.

I've found the difficulty with the likes of Uber is getting through to someone who understands what has happened and is in a place to fix it.
When all is said and done you can't force them to have your custom. Maybe you could try setting up another account under different email and phone numbers but it seems like a lot of work for £21.

If the food order was paid via paypal ( using a CC ) then login to paypal and see the transaction. If the paypal transaction has been subject to a chargeback hen you will see this .
