MOT Checker Nightmare

Hi, wondering if anyone has had any issues with the MOT status checker earlier on in the year.
I'm 99% sure I checked mine in May/June and it showed due 30/01/21.
I've just been on to double check again as wanting to sell car and it's showing expired 01/09. I am absolutely shizzling myself now as I was convinced it showed an extension due to covid. The car is completely roadworthy and I am in no doubt that it will pass and obviously will call to get it booked in first thing in the morning, I'm just completely panicked at the thought I have driven the car over the last few weeks and may have unwittingly broken the flipping law. I am so feggin anal about getting it booked in usually and really can not understand how I would have overlooked something so important.
Has anyone heard of the same thing happening or am I just trying to convince myself I'm right. My head's in the shed with it all (as I'm sure everyone else's are)
I could cry 🤦🤷

I'm sure plenty of people have 'overlooked' an MOT expiry date (did it myself once many years ago), just get it booked in and hopefully it passes, if not then you can 'maybe' have a cry if it costs a small fortune to get it passed, although I'm sure you already know crying over an issue rarely solves them.0

What does your paper cert show ? What does the history show for the date of the last MOT ? All our family cars that were extended are still showing the extended dates.

Clearly you made a genuine mistake.
Please, please please ensure your mot is booked before you travel and I'm sure you will only take the car directly there so if you get stopped enroute to mot, you will be within the law.

From the link below, and I quoteCoronavirus (COVID-19): changes to MOTs
There are some changes to MOT tests because of coronavirus (COVID-19). How this affects you depends on when your MOT is due to expire.
30 March to 31 July
Your MOT will be automatically extended for 6 months because of coronavirus.
ExampleYour vehicle’s MOT was due to expire on 3 April 2020.
This will automatically be extended to 3 October 2020. You will need to get your MOT by this date.

Stop panicking. The usual penalty is a £100 fine and no points. As offences go, it's pretty trivial.

When was your last test?
The six month extension applied to all tests due to expire between 30/3 and 31/7. So if it expired on 1/9, it would not have been extended. If it had been due to expire on 30/7, it would have been extended to 30/1.

It would of course help if the OP could stem their flood of tears for a moment and tell us what date is showing on their previous MOT in 2019...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Just take it for an MOT ASAP, and don't worry about it.As you have found, it goes perfectly well without one, and it is only a fine if you get caught no points. I've never heard of anyone being done for no MOT by a camera, and there isn't much chance of meeting one of those "Police" on the road unless you live in The Only Place That Matters (London)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Fines are usally 100 pounds but can be a lot more if stopped, no mot and your vheicle is in poor condition and yours is not.
