Tesco Account Closure Letter

Anyone else had one ?
Whilst downloading my latest statement I found one for one of my current accounts in my documents store. MrsM has got one too. Maybe prompted by us each closing our 2 savings accounts recently. No notification that it was there so only found it by accident by selecting documents instead of statements and can't actually read it as it is corrupted according to Acrobat (and any other PDF reader). Maybe something will come in the post.

I had an email 02/10/20 about my second account (dormant with a zero balance since January) and found the .pdf in my document store which was readable. The salient bits were:
- If you no longer need your account, please call us and we'll be happy to discuss this with you.
- If we dont hear from you within the next 30 days we'll close your account.
So I've moved a fiver into it, may come in useful as a donor account1 -
Just double checked e-mail and nothing there. Quite a few from them - statement notifications, notice of overdraft interest reverting to normal rates, credit card T&Cs etc - so we are getting mail. Very strange that neither of us have received anything.

I had one of those letter, I didn't do anything for 3months, and they didn't close the account, I did start using it again, but will probably stop now the interest rate is zero.

Tesco bank has no long term future. Out of the mortgage market. Next they'll be looking to offload the credit card business.1

Bringing this old thread back to life.E-mail notification of a new document. "Inactive account notification 1". Just states I am not making best use of the account, no indication of what will happen if I don't use it though so likely notification 2 coming next month.0

Think if no activity on the account for 6 months they start the close down process, if you make a payment in/out it'll reset the clock. If you ignore the letters eventually they may try to close the 'dormant' account.0

Emptied it after the first notification. No need for the second account as I only used it for a savings account, the other account is used purely for shopping in Tesco & Tesco petrol for the 2 points per £ and buying premium bonds and paying into my SIPP for the 1 point per £8.

They have now moved the account to the top of the viewing list on line, maybe hoping it will nudge me to do something1

I've been getting these closure letters all year, but Tesco have yet to take any action. I have now paid in a v small sum to reset the clock.

My accounts swapped positions too. The one named "Tesco 2" is now on the top and "Tesco 1" on the bottom. Don't know why.Nothing in my inbox though. Just usual monthly statements and annual statement.
