Thanks Less, he'll be my next stop. I always liked him and his programmes.
Also thanks for aquilegia plantings info Farway. And as for deep-fried mars bars, well I'd sooner eat me own feetI'd forgotten about the Falkirk Wheel, we deffo need a couple of those - one in and one spare. So some good hills will have to go on the list, or at least a monro or two. And we might as well stick on airfield on this list, because why not? A big one, with hangars, and a runway. Well if you're gonna do it, do it
I'm with you on the languages taff. I can say a handful of things in a handful of languages (please, thank you, where is the bathroom, how are you. How much?! You're so funny!) etc but I'd love to speak some of the older languages. Japanese, or Aztec, or that clicky one from south Africa. So do you not speak Italian then? I thought you were Italian... As for the dog, I'm not sure. Probably something lab or spaniel or setter based. A good-natured worker, possibly a bit collie? I'll tweak you a wolfhound if you like, no botherI oppose genocide. Selamat pagi everyone. Talking of odd language bits Malaysian was some I picked up. Lovely people.Sorry to be absent but I'm trying to deal with multiple takeovers of my internet and how to keep in budget. I may be posting from the library twice a week if I can't win.Weather awful here.Yesterday grey with a cold wind.Today brighter but with a bitingly cold wind. The sparrows have another new brood and I had some pretty birds with a bright yellow bit but the feeder is now empty again.Still no rain so everything crisp or dropping so must water again. I dish the water out of the bath into a bucket for the front. My Poundland Lavender Epsom Salts it seems will help the plants - though I chucked the water a few times before looking it up.Reading along, loving the photos of the colour blends. I've got some photos too but no time to download/upload at the mo because of all the nonsense you have to keep repeating with todays businesses.I wouldn't panic about the diab thing. A blood test to put your mind at rest? Probably at a pharmacy. There's a couple of things they've told me I've 'got' as though it's special but it's just something that everyone has when I've put it to them.Bless google for putting it straight.

YBE - first thing is to go back to the optician and say that as you were somewhat blindsided by the comment you didn't take it on board. Can they please explain why they made the comment and what you need to tell your GP. That way you'll know what it was that they saw that made them concerned. Just 'reviewing medication' isn't helpful. Then you can both make an appointment with your GP for a medical opinion/any tests and do your own research. Michael Moseley is a good resource, also Zoe (ignore the commercial stuff, they publish a lot of their research in blogs and podcasts to make it accessible). As mentioned, this is lifestyle rather than medical advice - for medical advice see your GP7

Another one in the sick bay here... sore throat (thought it was too much singing the other night), annoying scratchy cough and a headache. I'm away from home as well, so not great timing. Others in the family are also suffering, so I think we're sharing it. My back is still niggling too... moan, moan, grumble, grumble...
Agree with twopenny, get booked in for a blood test asap, YBE, even just to put your mind at ease.
Hope you're less lopsided now, Farway.
Interesting information on the tatties, Apodemus.
AR, those tattie flowers are really pretty. Still just buds on mine.
Lovely pics from everyone, as always.
The weather at home is thundery showers (no change there then). Here it's dry, warmish, but very windy. At least I'll be able to enjoy some lovely crashing waves

, I've actually seen the boat lift but never realised its importance at the time
One could lift, then along a penguin infested aqueduct, like this one, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontcysyllte_Aqueduct then down again on the other sidePast the airfield, oh look there's a Vulcan next to ConcordeLopsided watering of the carrots completed. If I peer & squint, I think I can see some green carrot tops. I'll know for sure by the weekend, assuming they are not drowned.

Oh pp
Hopefully it won't get any worse and it'll not be long in going. Are you away somewhere nice? Crashing waves
I appreciate the lifestyle tips folks, depending what time the builders stuff comes today I'll get out and see what the optician says, then nip to the pharmacy/docs for a test.
Selamat pagi to you too 2p. Booo to unreliable internet but yaay for more sparrows and yellow bit onesGoldfinches possibly? According to the weather last night there's plenty of rain to come down your way, so you'll hopefully get a useful share of it. Maybe your farmer pal saw this weather coming, and that's why he's stopping away Dusty!
Are we having a boatlift at one end of our viaduct and a Falkirk Wheel at the other then *nodding vigorously* And while we're on planes, anyone remember that children's prog from a few years ago - Lynda Baron and her wee dog Pippin going to see interesting things in her spotty plane? Well I'd like a spotty plane thankyouplease. I'll squidge it in carefully round the concorde/vulcan/F16's.
OT Bright sunny cool breezy morning here, less windy than yesterday though which is nice. It was a proper gusterly westerly and knacked my sweetpeasTook quite a lot of the petals off various flowers actually. And I'm down to 4 apples. I think something pinched one cos it's the lowest one that's gone and they're big enough now to hold on tight against the wind. Ah well.

Well still here.....feel for you Poppy, I had Covid about 4 weeks ago and it does hang around in various ways so don't plan any mountain climbing like activities for a while.Farway, so annoying when you twist a muscle so easily and it won't untwist just as easily.YBE hoping it was just a mistake. Seems to be a few recently among the medics and the like. I've got something wrong like a spec of something - was in one eye now in other and swollen in the morning. And to whoever else needs a hug you've got oneI was 'infested' with small birds yesterday evening fighting for the fat block. I went out for some mint when it was quiet and it was like Alfred Hitchcock as masses of sparrows rose in the air. They'd been eating the whitefly off the greensNo work done in the garden, I'm going to water anyway. I have a load of washing to be done and not sure.I'll pass on boats, the water looks more heaving than crashing waves and the sky is black.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Yay, rain at last
, real stuff, not the odd spit we've had at times. And wind to go with it.
Friday is feed day, but I'll pass today because it's raining, can't quite get my head around watering in rain. At least the embryo carrots, if they exist, will get a good drink.Another offer >:)Mr Fothergill, 50p seeds plus other bits & bobs. Not all seeds but worth a look just in case.. P & P appr £2.00 applies.Look under Sale. Nothing for me, but I was tempted by Tumbling Tom for a moment, but ideal for anyone topping up on veg or even flowers.
Could be ideal for any ex MP you may know who is wondering what to do with themselves nowHope the Covid improve PP, just as we thought it was safe. I'm still walking with a list to port, but it's not painful unless I go daft.Today is Judas tree seed pods, ripening up for shipment to the West CountryEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens9
