No super skies here either, just grey ones, and of course it's raining again but supposed to ease off while it gets its breath for another go tomorrowGlad everyone enjoyed the berries & roses pic, the real thing made me stop and look, I think it's two different, intermingling, trees, but now I need to double-check. The rose seems scent free, but with the wet, I never poked my hooter right in there.I imagine they are fairly common plants because they are car park landscapingYou do realise that now I have to go back and take a better photo and check the rose does not need pruning? If it does, I will follow Dusty's example and bring the trimmed shoots home for disposal, maybe part burying it in soil.Ferns, as mentioned by Dusty, I have Hart's tongue that just popped up between paving cracks, but the underlying soil is claggy clay so it's wet / dampBefore I forget, T & M have free postage offer this weekend in case there is something you must have. I've not looked yet but named posh dahlias may be tempting me.No gardening, too wet again, but I'm told there is a GW winter special, so I may have a look on iplayer before the licence goes up and I flounce offToday's pic is donkey Head N Tail at local GC from yesterday. I never knew MSE censored the American term for bum which is also a pack animal, anyway, here they are.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Don't do donkeys Farway.
One treated me very badly and now I avoid them. Good photo though
Bluey, take a look at this

The sun did eventually emerge and it was lovely to see. By the time I got home around 2,30 with plans to go out and enjoy it properly it had gone down and thick cloud. Hurrumph
Nice and mild though.
6 days and it gets lighter each night ........
Oh, and heard why it's not possible to photograph the giant moons on a podcast.
I'll have to listen again before I can understand it though.

I'm afraid the sunshine didn't last as long as was promised here either, 2p. It stayed dry, but the wind made working in the polytunnel very difficult, so I gave up after a couple of hours.
Until it stops blowing like this, I can't concrete-in the rollers that direct and retain the sliding doors, so they remain wedged open. With a strong westerly, it becomes a passable imitation of a wind tunnel in there!
Currently gusting to 40mph and temps still in double figures.
The outlook here suggests calmer weather next week, and then more unsettled in the run-up to Christmas. There's no suggestion of snow for these parts before New Year. In other words, 'normal.'Donkeys. Back in the day, I remember our town held a Donkey Derby. Youths, like myself, were recruited to ride the animals, while adults bet on the outcome of races, and the profits went to charity. I can't remember much more than that, so I wasn't a winner, and it's likely I didn't fall off, either. I expect local horsey girls thrashed us lads, but there again, maybe not. The stuffy ones wouldn't have been seen dead on such lowly beasts of burden. It was strictly for those willing to make an !!!!!! of themselves.EDIT: You're right Farway; what a ridiculous swear filter."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Ha!Ha! One travel site I'm familiar with has such a strong filter you couldn't answer questions about certain towns - but lack of real interest and country biased we could put all sorts from the UK. Quite confusing but fun sorting out posters bemusement when their posts kept being rejected for profanity. A different sort of word game.Scunthorpe for instance. Just wondering if that will go throughAh yes. Maybe because this site is UK.No gardening in the dark of course........sitting admiring my bargain tree all glittery. It's my rather large, house plantDusty, have you done this path?

I never understood why the filters would catch Scunthorpe, because we always called it Scumthorpe and scum isn't a swearword
I'm trying to force a joke about shaking that a-s-s but I'm only 3 coffees in so instead I'll say - Ooh what a lovely pair Farway. Himself's less 'orrible sister likes donkeys, and she's frowned upon by the 'orrible sister who married paired up well enough to become a proper horsey farmer sort. I like donkeys meself, the farm next to granda's had donkeys. Me and his daughter Shona went riding on a couple of them one day, and being Good Girls we kept off the road by galloping about the hen + duck gardens. I can't remember what punishment Shona got, but I wasn't allowed to talk to the dogs 'til the hens all started laying again. Jeez I was distraught, I can feel the sting of it now stillThe ducks weren't a bit bothered, so there's a lesson in there somewhere....
If too many bits fall off that rose Farway don't be struggling with them - I'm sure I could create a bit of room for disposal too, especially if they're fragrant
The weather here yesterday was about as they said. It stopped raining just after lunchtime and the wind really picked up about 7pm ish. So basically what the drunkards gave. We got all bundled up and went to Brid (pics in a min) for chish'n'fips and my god the sea was rough. Queer though cos it's wasn't windy and it was almost kind of mild and pleasant - 14' himself's car said. Nobody but a few joggers and dog walkers risked it on the beach though. Considering we're so close to christmas it was very quiet....
Good luck with your stream Dusty, I bet it doesn't look like that this morning!
Have you got your tree decorated 2p? Think that's what we're doing today, christmas decs. I'll have a look at your links in a min. IMC is always a good bet imo.
Today they've given rain and windy but less so than yesterday. And mild still. I read a thing the other day about the new things the drunkards and sobers are doing to become more accurate. Quite interesting actually. Some of it.
Edit - here's the link - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-67541931I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside….Pics don’t do it justice, that sea was roiling.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6

twopenny said:Dusty, have you done this path? That's the Coast Path at Damagehue Rock, halfway between Bull Point and Lee, 2p.We've been to Lee this year, but mostly we've walked the coast west of Bideford; around Hartland and beyond. Next year, I want to visit some of your area, but it's quite a long drive for my friend, based near Barnstaple. Being more in the middle of things, I can swing both ways, but the big lump of Exmoor doesn't offer a very direct route to your part for either of us.
No, we've not done that section yet. It's on our list. The circular route from Lee goes through Damage Barton, which is quite a busy holiday site, best missed in the season. There's also a blimmin' stiff climb out of Borough Valley to get up there....and then that bit pictured on the way back!
I haven't felt up to it in recent months.
That sea looks roiling to me, Bluey, what great photos!Peeing down again here....can I say that?"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity4 -
Up early, couldn't sleep, but off to DS in a bit, so I expect Dusty rain to arrive as we drive West, towards Scumhampton, twinned with Scumthorpe?Cracking sea pics YBELooking at that path pic, did anyone watch latest GW winter special with the two ladies allotment near Polperro, I think? Amazing, twenty minute slog up a hill to get there, some of us have it easy looking at thatThis forum has descended into a pit of innuendo since my Donkeys, lovely pair, swing both ways,I'll keep you in mind YBE if extra rose bits drop offI may finish up in a GC with DS + family, they are some of those folks who have coffee in such places whilst I mooch among the plantsFor anyone tree decorating, here's the posh one from my visit to GC with donkeys, it looked very nice with all the glitter and GC had made an effort. It was £22 to see father Christmas BTW, now that's inflation. But I'm told he is best one in the area, and kiddy gets a present.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens5

Bit of a fox’s paw to be posting lots of pics but, dawn though!Well that’s a full Christmas tree Farway *cough* I like the horse in the background though, and what's that just cut in half on the bottom right hand side? Can't decide if it's a dog or a lion...
I always like the gc pictures. I'm not to be trusted in one any more. Apparently. I'll have to look up gw on catchup cos it seems I've missed one.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
