Awful weather - typical Brits talk

I think it's £20 pa rebate if you have a soak away.Doesn't sound much but they're wanting to put up my water rates substantially just when I've got a bath!Looking for one way seems I have free fertiliser that I pay to wash down the pipework. I'm looking into that after the sucess with my lawn. Don't tell the neighbours

Seems I'm charged by the warerboard for the rain falling on my roof. Need to investigate how to divert it without flooding something.Alternatively, you could make a wadi, but don't forget what happened recently at Derna.....
OT: It's lovely here this morning. Blue sky and modest wind. Before you get digging, better check what the rules in your area are regarding rainwater, or you may find you still get charged for drainage somehow, off a garage / shed for instanceI have a vague memory of someone having all kinds of trouble trying to avoid being charged for rain water, I bet there are minimum standards for soak away and the like in small print

I saw that somewhere on tv and my brain queried it.
Great idea. I have a lot of friends who would like it. Neighbours wouldn't mind.
May be a tad problem that my garden doesn't have the acreage
Second thoughts, a cold water public pool has been mooted just the other side of the road. Perhaps I could help.

You'll need to make sure you have:
- Ideally level land of at least ½ acre (if you plan to have up to five pitches)
- Safe access for caravans/motorhomes
Usually you won’t need any planning permission to set up a five pitch caravan and motorhome Certificated Location site. However, if you need to construct buildings or other structures, or need to carry out any engineering works such as ground formation, all-weather surfacing, septic tank or effluent treatment plant installation you should approach your local planning authority to discuss the proposed works and they will advise you if planning permission is required. Work of his nature may be necessary before the Club is willing to grant a CL certificate. More information is available in our handy guide:
They don't know how lucky they are!A calm, sunny day here, so I planted my leeks (late, but they carry on growing through most winters) and prepped a bed for garlic. This week, Premier Seeds emailed to say they had Elephant Garlic, and 90 mins later they emailed again to say they were sold out! Mine has come from a local source. I'm making sure it's not cooked before I plant it this autumn!"There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity2 -
Beautiful morning here, cooler than it has been but sunny and still. The moon was lovely looking too when I got up, I did take a pic but it doesn't look anything like the reality
Funny that Knights Who Say "Ni" was my first thought too Farway, jeez that show was good fun.
Still grafting away here at Shawshank Patch. I want to get the Empty Quarter sorted and maybe move that rose out, and I need to get my bulbs in today. There's a lot of rain coming apparently, it may or may not be heavy or light this afternoon or this evening or overnight. I'll be glad when I get the job finished cos it's making my hands and wrists and knees ache! Just that last third to do now though, the end is in sight.
Did we decide what my holly and the other one are? Or do I need to take better pictures...? I'm not sure where to plant them so an ID would be helpful then I can research(Look at me maturing beyond - just get it in the ground then it's up to you to live or die pal !)
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.3 -
Lovely sunny but cooler day here, no gardening planned for today except shuffle around, check over & water the pansies in trays I bought from MorriesPlan for tomorrow is up to the volunteer border with other volunteers and get them into pots ready for Remembrance service next month, try and make the area look nice, especially as it will be first time since CovidAlso hoping to get the remaining Cloth of Gold from seed into the volunteer border, luckily one person has enough oomph in him to make holes without falling overI did manage to cut back the laurel near my garage yesterday afternoon, looks a right bare mess now but should soon recover come SpringYoungBlueEyes said:Beautiful morning here, cooler than it has been but sunny and still. Farway's clip was what I had in mind when I named our local figure guarding the concealed entrance.Just a thought about your root-filled Dead Zone, Bluey; don't you think neighbour's blimmin' great tree has something to do with it?
As to your holly, well, it might be, but it might be a berberis too.
Just had a winter's load of logs delivered. They're much smaller sizes this time, as requested.Dull and spitting with rain now, which it wasn't s'posed to do.I've planned a walk along the coast path, so if the big blob of rain slides north-east over Wales, that will be fine. If it doesn't, we might be rather damp by 5pm.

Jeez Farway if my phone could take pictures like that I’d be ….ummm…. over the moon
Here’s what I got -
Zooming in to just get the moon was even worse ha haa!Yeah I reckon it’s lovely neighbours tree too, so what would withstand the onslaught and thrive there, if anything…? I’ve dug all the ivy out now, don’t they produce some roots?!Clouded over now, which is nice. And thank god for the breeze tooI removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
And now there’s these yokes trying to set up home in my soil 😣There’s maybe a couple of dozen of them buzzing round, and the holes reappear as fast as I’m stamping on them. It’s bladdy endless innit.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.2
