Sunny agin, & set fair for a few more days
Wowee on the tom Dusty, there was I peering hard at mine, hoping to spot even embryo flower buds, none, nuffin' Be July at the earliest here and that will be going some.
No BG for me yet, non licence payer so iplayer is off limits and not yet appeared on YT. GW is there and BG was last year, I'll just have to bide a wee while
Talking of GW, I see Monty was sowing purple podded peas, nice to see he is at last catching up with me ! 😄Mine are in a pot, and will go out soon, only have three plants [old seeds] but will be used for next years seed supply
YBE Thanks for Sherry Baby Farway, I'll be singing that all day now! When I was feeding the birds I checked on Cherry Baby and it's gorn - if a squirrel snaffled it I hope it gets the runs. Shipbag. Are you in for grapes this year do you think?
I'm feeling very left out with all this salad talk, I'll check my packets today and see if they've given me any 🤞 I've got some peas to plant today (if it's not too late..?) Himself went out yesterday and came back with some so I'll get them into pots today and see what transpires
Glad you liked Sherry baby, even after all these years it still sticks in my head. Oh dear, Cherry baby didn't last long, had it properly "set"? I find the my birds etc at least do the decent thing and wait for them to ripen first
Grapes, still waiting, high hopes but I say same very year and never get far. maybe this year? No flowers on it yet, waiting for all the leaves to unfurl.
Good luck with peas, should be fine, my Mange toots are about a foot high & bumbling [I wrote climbing, spell checked into bumbling, fits better so I've left it] up the twigs, no flowers yet
Red Spider on the salvias, wouldn't the spiders just die off if you put the salvias out side now? Or have I got that wrong? And NASA, I see they used an old model of camera for the moon pics, cos nothing better these days.
Today I have a the last of my toms to pirk out, Gardeners' Delight dragging their heels. I know we all know, but the growth difference in varieties is very apparent.
Now then, now then 😈 Here's moon taken with an old camera yesterday, includes my Judas tree, which is it's best year ever due to a week of sun & decent weather, without winds ripping the blossom off
Left large for moon view, spot the cones coming on?

Sorry Bluey, but I am a cherry baby snatcher 😁

Everything is starting, how much can stay the course?
I woke up ill this morning and caved this afternoon so no gardening. Annoying when you fit the chores in first then can't manage the bit you want 😬
But I can give you cherries. The brown bits are the flowers on the end of cherries and whole sprays of them on the right 😀
But we've months to go for things to go wrong....

I’ve succumbed to some type of lurgy, drippy throat and annoying cough, and sneezing. I hope it doesn’t last as I’m only just over a week from my holiday. 🥹
After work yesterday I mowed the grass and edged it. Shoulders are stiff this morning don’t know if it’s lurgy or edging induced.
I’m now singing sherry baby , thanks Farway ! The Judas tree looks great next to the blue sky ,I’ve noticed the ‘phantom moon’ during the day at the moment.
I can’t remember who said what or what I was going to reply to. But everyone seems to be well ahead with stuff blooming. So many lovely photos too.

Morning all, on ummm back to bladdy work Day (I’m only on my phone)
Gawd look at all your cherries 🫣 I just hope they’re cheap this year or I’ll not be getting any at all *sob *
I asked Cissie what my tatties are, she said “they’re the ones my coal man sells”. Aye but are they little waxy eaters or lovely powdery mashers or what Cissie? “It’s no use you asking me that for I don’t eat seed potatoes!” And that ended that conversation 😆
OT a bit humid but it’s alright out there. 8’c currently and a high of 16’ to come, possibly. Oh and the cloud burned off quickly yesterday and it was lovely and sunny, which is a good job cos my washing line broke but at least the grass was dry so I didn’t have it to do again 😎

Aw, I hope it's not the same one going through the Exeter store currently. We blamed GS for catching ours at nursery, but DD2 is back at work now and finding the same thing there. ☹️
I didn't dare look at Farway's earworm! I knew what it was, and never liked it, even as a kid. 😬 It's still made a few attempts to climb through the mire of my subconscious though! 😲 And as if that isn't bad enough, YT thinks I'm into Gary Glitter after following someone's link elsewhere!
Yesterday was mercifully cloudy here. I say 'mercifully' because most of the day was taken up with loading the van and driving to the recycling centre, twice. We also returned a trolley to a well known supermarket. It's been in our barn for about 10 years. Some lady students persuaded me to remove it from their backyard in Bournemouth. It was old and rusty then! 🤣 Had our first barbecue of the year to compensate, but only watering done.
Today looks likely to be scorchio, now the cloud has burned-off. This was earlier.
Only wild cherries here. Even the birds aren't that keen sometimes!

Another lurgy sufferer here too. Seems to be wizzing through 🤞 with lots of vitamins and keeping 🥵
Dentist this lunchtime. What happens there determines what happens the rest of the day.
Nice melty sunrise there Dusty 🙂

Sorry to hear the lurgy news, hope it clear soon 'cos this time of year it's a PIA looking out at things needing doing and unable to get on with it.
Dusty, YT thinks I'm into Gary Glitter after following someone's link elsewhere! Ha, swap you for my Hugh Edwards allotment, and I loved Sherry baby, probably because I link it to my time spent too long in the Portsmouth NAAFI club 😁Oh, and what about Needles & Pinza? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3aLTl1pa9c
2P, wow on the cherries, hope they all survive. Good luck with lurgy & dentist.
Sun's out, due to warm up again, I'm watering all the potted plants regularly now, trying to keep ahead just in case lurgy returns and I'm not able to do so.
Pirked up the last of my toms yesterday, adding crushed eggshells to the manky compost, hopefully that will help, and now starting to harden off the Cafe Au Liat [sp?] dahlias, no sign of the other varieties showing yet. Fortunately I put slug pellets around because there is one very poorly slug this morning
The week's sun has got the blossom going, can I claim the first Boysenberry flower on here?. There are loads to come, just hope I like the taste. I've added more cane fruit flowers that were open yesterday, you can see the family traits.

I liked Needles & Pins, although my tastes at that time were more attuned to the Who and the Kinks, whose lyrics spoke to confused young men, like me. We were all toughness on the outside, and soft as marshmallow within! 😂 Following the Mod scene and attending discos also brought me soul music, which still stirs memories, mostly positive. And then came psychedelia…..🙃 I vaguely remember being on Hay Tor while a plane flew over, dropping flowers. Nowadays, it would probably be a drone with a loudspeaker, telling us to disperse immediately! 😲
We never escape those formative years. A few bars, and we're transported back to times that look temptingly rosy….at a distance of 50 or 60 years! 😉 Certainly, it was good to have all one's bits fully functional! See below.🙄
Mrs Dusty and I were in town all day for her physio appt, follow-up footwear purchase, and a litany of other stuff. Maybe we should have swapped places, as I seem to have a knee + hamstring problem now. 😕 Came home to very dry pots, so it must've been quite hot. We scarcely noticed, but the ride home was pretty.😊

Morning all, on a cool and damp morning Day.
I hope the lurgies have lifted a bit 2p and wort 🤞🏻Have you got a date for your op 2p? How’s your toms doing wort?
That’s a lovely gentle sunrise Dusty ☺️ Knee and hamstring problems..? Did MrsD give you a swift kick for summat..? 😄
Have you high hopes for the Boynsenberry Farway? Any clue what they’ll taste like?A couple of pics. I took this Sunday morning cos they do please me - AquilegiaBum
And one from wm, who’ll be back with us when life calms down a bit -
My phone says it’s 1’ out there now (it’s not) and the humidity’s dropping (true) and the NE wind will pick up later (possibly true). They promised us rain yesterday for about 1600 and there wasn’t a drop (ship bags) so I’m pre-emptively watering too. We’ve had no rain for long enough now, it wants turning back on again thankyouplease.
