The lavender flowers look nice, twopenny, I bet it smells lovely when you’re sat on the bench. Lavender is something that’s missing in my garden - I must look out for it next year.

White snapdragons (??) in my inherited pots. My Aldi Sweet Williams enjoying the sunshine (there were no planting instructions and I just wanted something pretty for my guests to admire - they didn’t notice 🙄) and iirc the other pic is Jacob’s Ladder…

Forgot to say, there’s a foxglove growing in with one of the snapdragon pots and when I plant ID’d it, it said it was a Spanish foxglove. I checked Farway’s foxglove from a few pages back and it said the same thing, Spanish foxglove?? Is it the same thing as bluebells, with Spanish and native??

I love Jacobs Ladder. I used to have the purple one, lots of when I started the garden.
Think it's because as a child my favourite place was Jacobs Ladder down to the beach in Sidmouth. My mother, not so much 😉

Dusty you 👿, I’m pining for philictrum, keep seeing them mentioned and fancy those . The pudding would have made me glad I’m coeliac sawdust pud 😂 ice cream would be my choice too.
Farway glad you’re up to watering , those blooming cans don’t half get heavy when you fill them.

Sidmouth beach looks gorgeous, twopenny. I see there's a webcam too, so I might have a wee nosy at that later.

I like the smell of Jacob's Ladder flowers - I put some in a vase a couple of years ago because they'd flopped over the path and I kept nearly standing on them - I seem to remember they lasted a good few days indoors.

It's a lovely morning after a sticky night. It was so nice to open the back door and be hit by the coolness of the early morning. Heard a bird I didn't recognise and my bird ID identified it as a Siskin. Yesterday there was a Goldcrest. I haven't seen either of them, but it's nice to know they're out there   

Right, time to don my coat, zip it up to my nose, put the hood up and put my wellies on to go and hang the washing out. Bloomin' midges...

Hope you've had a better nights sleep Farway, and have a good day at DD's.  £50 purchase money Bad news about your coleus - mine ones are ever so happy and one them's flowering. I'll keep up a steady supply of pics so you don't miss out I only put up the funny stories from work, I could put some heart-breaking ones too but there's misery enough in the world. Actually some of the advice we give is ..umm yeah... well it goes against what I read on here anyway. I think some of it falls into the 'well we'll do the thing our client has asked us to do as it's not illegal and then charge handsomely for it' but that's presuming the wiseheads on here are right. 

'Helpful' folks are all over then Dusty? I'm wondering now, does anybody look like they think they look...?  Speaking of Lidl, we went in there yesterday and they've changed the Salmon Wellington, it's got cheese sauce and dill and stuff in it now :boke: Why can't they leave things be? Nipped round to Aldi and they don't do them, so that's the end of that Your pure white Thalictrum looks like a cloud of fairies dancing about, I'd be really very sorry to lose that. 

I hope you got a better night's sleep last night too pp? I did get DomNon done, I tried to be quiet as I could but when I was hoovering the bedroom for the second time himself woke up. Shame on me Well it was nearly a half eleven for gawd sake   Anybody in their beds at that time need to be either sick+dying or giving birth, no exceptions.  Ooh I love your flax, that is so .... uncomplicated and pleasing That's another keeper/screensaver/front page adorner imo. Woohoo for cheapy pots of sunflower seeds 2p :clapping: I'm not a bit jealous that all your morries' are still thinking of the gardeners *pout*  Your bench+pot+lavender combo are just right   I've my fingers and toes crossed that your aubrecia (is that the daisy one?) is going to stay, they're another little charmer imo. Up to your elbows in pizza dough and 3 year olds, god I did giggle at that Bosses with no sense of humour are a trial. I know how lucky I am with Big Boss Man, even if he comes with an OMM  

OT lovely out there, little fluffy white clouds and a bit sunny with a cool breeze - perfick   Sobers say bright sunshine all day and a high of 22'c, Tusky says cloudy all day and a high of 19'c. Drunkards probably say snow or summat but I wouldn't know for I deleted that app. More gardening today - the more I'm out there the more I see wants doing.

Also my own sunflowers have decided to show their faces. I don't know what they were taking their time about, they're only little and short and hardly worth the bother frankly. Glads for scale -

Oh and they had sorrowful lavenders inside the door pp, if you have one up there...? Little cardboard troughs with 3 plants in, for £3 iirr.

The Spanish foxglove would be a rare thing to pop up among other plants by accident, pp. but not impossible. Given the dry shade down by the stream (bed) at this time of year, it might be something I could try there.

 You do get magnificent sunsets to compensate for the midges up there! 

Some Thalictrums aren't too difficult to grow, wort...the commoner ones are easy. Stay away from Hewitt's Double....it dies.  That white one also vanishes!   We have T. flavum here. Very robust. It survives even in the stream area, but it's not the same species as more delicate ones I've pictured recently.

OT: A cool morning here with a stiff SE breeze, totally clear skies, and no suggestion it will rain in the week ahead's forecast from the Exeter inebriates. There's a hint of a possible change around this time next week. I hope so, because although we're fairly parched here, it's much worse elsewhere.

Our camping guests leave today, so Mrs Dusty and I will have some R&R at last....although we did have some of that yesterday afternoon, with an hour or so of unplanned snoozing.

Today's archive photo is from those heady pre-Covid days of 2019, when we were selling surplus veg. I picked this, because a courgette very similar to the monster pictured, was found this morning on a plant that had 'stopped' producing!

Fear not!  The cheesy Salmon Wellington isn't a replacement; it's been there all along, for numpties with no taste, or as a punishment for those who don't read the packaging carefully.  Your store may simply have run out of the good one with the prawns!  “Stock up when you see it!” would be my advice. 

I once looked better than I thought I looked, but that was when I was 16. I wish I knew then what I know now. 

As it's Sunday, here's me as a yoof, somewhere in Germany's Rhineland. Excuse splodges and Instamatic quality. I will delete later. The following year, everyone had hair like that so I got rid!
