Awful weather - typical Brits talk

Sorry, no cute chick photos yet; they're all sleeping off yesterday's exertions under the electric hen. Tomorrow they should do more drinking and start eating properly, so I'll get a shot then. I wonder how many are boys? With rain threatened, I had the joyous job of backpack spraying the thistles and docks in the fields. There aren't many so it's a tedious job quartering the land, looking for the little devils. Docks occur singly, but if one thistle rosette is spotted there will be more nearby. I hope I've got at least 80% of them now.4

The blue grasses should be fine, mine used to self seed into the gravel. Some lovely pics, I have enjoyed catching up with all your trios and endeavours.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.3

The awful weather is scheduled to arrive around tea time so I've put the young plants out for some fresh air until thenI cleared most of weeds from the pots yesterday and added slow release fertiliser, all to be watered in by rain today when it arrivesMild & dull out, with the wind starting to pick up, typical Bank Holiday in that respectEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens3

Well, it's windy, but so far I'm unimpressed with the amount of rain and it's even looking quite bright now.
I mowed two lawns and then potted-on a load of plants in the poly, expecting a deluge, but it hasn't arrived.
Here's the picture of the chicks I promised. They move fast, but 3 are in focus. Dorkings are unusual in having 5 toes instead of the usual 4.11 -
They are adorable D! ❤️Just my opinion, no offence 🐈3

They look very healthy and lively.
Has one got a paler head, or is that just the blur?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing5 -
So cute. It's nice to see something normal that's going on regardless of the nightmare we're in.Soooo thought it was an over reaction this weather thing but wild winds and rain. Neighbours fence down and my raspberries are left to fend for themselvesSo far my lilac tree in a pot is still standing and the plants I put on a slope haven't washed down it.Seems there's a new way of showing the photos on this site so no idea how this will show. Can anyone explain why this didn't appear in the post?

No idea about putting photos on MSE but so glad your neighbour's fence landed the way it did.
And mighty impressed that you have brassicas growing that haven't been stripped by wood pigeons. The net came off my kale in one of the gales and the little burgers stripped it before the wind died down enough to re-arrange it successfully. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing4 -
Wow, those are serious pigeons!I haven't had the trouble in this house, I did in my large garden before. They used to sit on the top and eat their way from both ends. I found that a 1-2ft strip of netting around the base/bed and they couldn't work out how to get in. Surprisingly effective. These are purple sprouting, the best & biggest I've grown before planting out but they kept growing and the stalks colapsed and they are sitting on their elbows. Tough leaves. But they've supplied the goods which is what matters

This weather can do one. We wanted rain, but will pass on the wind thanks!
No activity in the garden today barring opening the greenhouse - my tomatoes are looking a bit unhappy, but they're in a grow bag now so I can't move them in the house - and I straightened the cane for the Acer as that had blown skewiff.
I've seen some pictures of people using IKEA glass display cabinets to create indoor greenhouses. I've got the fly trap, two cacti pots (one has 3 in it) and a haworthiopsis I think. With the cats, I'm very limited on where the plants can go, but now I'm considering whether I can do something on my desk for some of them where they'd be safe behind glass.5
