Lavender farm, been to one in Norfolk, part of the itinerary of the coach I was on, and one near here 

Personally, apart from seeing all the types of lavender it is take or leave it for me, very much "Oooh, that's nice, where's the cake shop" ?

However, if the Abbotsbury you refer is the Swannery, and tropical gardens, just get going & forget the lavender

Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens will eat up all your time, I'd imagine, 2p. Well worth seeing, but as it would be a 140 mile round trip, I'd not try to fit too much in! 

Maybe make it two days & stop over somewhere?

Ditto, mine a just about there, this week should see them really ripe. I found some fleece had been pulled down, guess squirrels checking. Re-fastened.

My figs, some appear to have been sunburned, very odd, part of the fig is sort of ripe. I've chucked those.

I wonder if it is the same as with the red plums [Dusty] that fall off with a bug in them?

I have a squillion young self sown foxgloves, so many they're obviously choking off all the erinwhatsits & Love in AM

Picked some forbidden rhubarb, for another taste. Only a small bowl, not crumble sized.

If it keeps warm, I'll plant out the three perennials from Morries into Dog Poo border

Managed to get a pic of my grapefruits, on the bush from seed sown by DS about thirty years ago

It flowered eight years ago but fruit never set. Flowered again this year & fruit seems to have set.

From here on, its new territory.

I was meaning Hartland Abbey and gardens duh!
So Cheristow lavender is nearby. Still, I think I'd rather go look at the coast because I have the same thought. I've got many varieties in the garden.

Ah found out where I got mistook. I had leaflets for both.

Taff thanks for the advice. I used to have a technique for this. Heeled boots and smart so my current situation doesn't allow that...... maybe worth the pain for 10mins 😉

YBE, cake was purchased, but I’d gone off the idea by the time I got home. Didn’t fancy it yesterday either as feeling lurgified. DH, who always proclaims that he doesn’t eat cake, has been helping himself… 🙄

Much to my great relief, it was a lovely garden, the sun shone, there was tea both before and after our perambulations, and the cake was top-notch. I think I'm safe, but there was a party of 3 who became lost and didn't find the venue. They were last heard of within a few miles of Rosemoor, so perhaps they went there instead.

Never heard of a bee fly. Now I want to see one.
But I did wizz up to the hills to listen to nightjars. Love that noise. And saw lots of hummingbird moths. Wonderful things.

I've rasp canes galore here wort, they're not letting wilfull neglect stop them. I'll send you a cane if you like? They came up from nowhere and have gone raging mad and just coming into fruit now. They're lovely eaters, they've a creaminess to them like a scottish rasp. Very yummy  

I've never been to a lavander farm 2p but my friend Claire goes to one round here and she loves it. They do all kinds of things with the flowers - potions and lotions, scones and biscuits, drinks etc. I've never been myself cos it'd be a bit same-y I think but she goes a few times a year *shrug*  Hopefully the confrontations were brief and successful? If you're remaining manure bag is a decent size I'd give everyone a wee bit

That sounds like a queer going on with your figs Farway, what's occurring? Is it a bug or something?  Woohoo to the grapefruit though, I bet the squirrels leave them be! Which perennials did morries provide? I better not plant any foxgloves then, if they'll only choke out my non-existent LiaMs and erinigiwosnames.

Ha haa pp, I feel your pain there - himself is a non cake-eating cake gannet too. Same with biscuits and crisps. I buy them and buy them and never eat them but we've never any in. And he denies eating them with a straight face. They can be such children Anyway, do you want my job? You can have it if you want it, start tomorrow if you like. Be prepared to sit through lots of bitchiness and fake gossip and back-stabbing, and whatever you do don't say "for fuque sake, what are you all? 10?!" That doesn't land well.  I'll find out the reaper cushions today Might work out fine cos my garden's in sore need of me and I'm not keeping up  

OT warm and gerrin' warmer. Currently 16' with a high of 25 to come, they say. Least it's cloudy out there at the minute but they're to break up later, possibly. Ridiculous temps for the weekend said the weathergirl last night

Ha! I remember that at the last office I worked in. Came as a shock to start with and just annoying thereafter.
I put the phone down hard on one boss because he was always doing it to me. He was a bit shocked by the looks I got but he didn't do it again 🙂

Lovely lot of raspberries there. Raspberry jam store for winter? Scones and homemade jam yummy.
Like your trough. I'd planned an oldy world garden after the med one didn't materialise but the pot cost ant they were too heavy to move put an end to that.

Could do with a garden outing Dusty. We've only had one open gardens and that was 15 and not great food. Don't know if people are fed up with doing it or they aren't getting the numbers in with price rise and everyone done the rounds too often.
