Grey, dull, cold & windy. Oh Joy!YoungBlueEyes said:That's a beggar about your peas Farway, will you try again? Lovely cheery catkins - I can just see them happily dancing in the breeze
I'm not sure I like your ram as much as I like the coo, he's got mean eyes. I'd like it more if lasers came out of them, and zapped small yappy dogs and errant children but that's probably not allowed eh.Peas, trying again, it’s Hurst green Shaft, started yesterday, expired 2021, so quite fresh by my seed standardI'd like one of those zappy eyes sheep as well, with perhaps some Terminator traits?Maybe a sneaky killer Fishing Gnome? Quietly fishing until a designated target appears, then it would lunge into near lethal action.I suppose it could be combined with a robot lawn mower while we are at it? Keep off the grass signs would have proper enforcement.Ah, primrose 2P, despite everything the days are a bit longer & it is slowly getting SpringlikeSet up the small propagator yesterday, I now have chilli & sweet peppers, sunflowers, Welsh onions and something Helios or other, sown & in the warm.And now I realise I should get my dwarf dahlias seeds started, possibly later today?Apart from that, no gardening planned, too cold out thereEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens4 -

We have temperatures of 13-14c predicted by the end of the week, though, and that's worth a quick mention.
Might not be quite what you had in mind!

Back to 4c again today.It had the nerve to brighen up so much it looked like sunshine which got me all excited but it's clouded over with more grey and cold.Not raining though so there's that.Still shuffling around with plenty more jobs in the house that I'd like done but probably going out for some daylight and lolling as it's Sunday.Keep looking at the garden to rearrange when the time comes but still can't decide so it's all still where it was.A paint gun in a place this side would be a menace Bluey. I'd get most of the paint bouncing back and everything would have to be covered properly - which is harder work than the painting!Car is ok. It's comfy, good heater and fine turning point. Neat little thing and roomy for it's size. But it's a good town car - I want one that grips on muddy roads and has enough room for all the garden waste to take to the tip.

I'd have it myself, but Mrs D says she wants to pull a trailer with the next one.

Looks good Dusty.And it's got proper windows without the styling so you can see to reverse or pull into hedges.Good going Farway.I was looking at Dahlias in Morries. One for £2 is probably about right for my garden. I can have 3 different ones.Tescos have a box for £6 but you can't see or feel them and they could be anything.Too dark today to see to paint. Went out for colour pots and plant pots viewing but it's really bitter out there as well as dark. Back to 4c with an Easterly wind and dense cloud.Yesterday I only needed one layer of clothes and that felt good, back to 3 today

thanks wort..It's a potential plant on the list.Dusty, aahh, oh dear, poor thing. On the plus side, no more roofing ever...and it did give me a sigh of relief, I thought uh oh, are we talking a Blythe Spirit kind of situation here...
cute ram. I do prefer a sculpture that doesn't look like it's going to blow away. LOVE the fish composite sculpture, definitely my kind of thing. But it does look like it should be from a book, or a poem..is it?
Lpve the fungi PP.Them bulbs sound and look cool ybe..the compost is levingtons multi in the red packaging, yes, it does have peat. I'd like to be all peat free but while they still sell it, I'll still buy it, until they get their peat free act together. I want my tomatoes to grow, not to be stunted and pathetic like a lot of them were until I changed the compost again. If you have to keep trying different things or adding nutients to something you bought to speicifcally have nutrients in it anyway, it's not fit for purpose. Peat free compost has been around for at least fifteen years now commerically, you'd have thought someone would have perfected something in that time. Although if the Ruth Stout experiment works, I'll be practically peat free anyway from next yearTell Cissie my condolences too, damn them super efficient Rollers...laser eyes ;rofl;
Farway, shame about the double dud peas.. you've dashed my hopes for mine [sad smiley] Loveing the fishing laser eye idea though, very James Bond.2p, I forget i can listen to anything in the day - I've got a computer not a tv, so download what I want to watch or stream. But you've reminded me there are other choices...I need to work on my attention span though! Lovely primroses..Yours are far in advance of the ones I discovered are growing on my plot, there is one flower I saw toay to bloom, everything else is just leaves. I need ot transplant some so they don't get stepped on.Went to the allotment again today, did some final chopping down of dead cherry tree and the suckers, strimmed a bit, laid more cardboard in advance of hopeful hay delivery tomorrow, weeded, fetched some willow from someone who'd severely pruned their tree to use for edging, and took that there, forgot to take all things i meant to , like parsnip seeds and the wheelbarrow and liberated a metal bucket which was not sitting on anyone's allotment but is now sitting on mine. Dull, grey and bitter cold. Thank god for waterproof gardening gloves. Allotment buddy behind me tells me it's supposed ot be 15 degrees next week. We'll see. I was politely distrusting...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi5 -
Primroses take a fair bit of treading on Taff. I've mown over them, trodden on them and they still come up and flower.Did anyone see the beautiful gold primrose found on Digging for Britain?I've seen it cleaned up and it is stunningly beautiful............also shows how long they've been around that someone had it made and wore it.Looked at the compost in the garden centre - same price but much smaller bags.Still, at least I'll be able to lift them easily enough.

It also has the reliable1.4 engine, not the 1 litre Ecoboost, which no one wants. The bodywork won't be perfect, but who cares when hedge brushing's inevitable around here!Farway said:Dustyevsky said:Chops has something that looks reasonable:https://www.cgcarsales.co.uk/product-page/2009-ford-fiesta-1-4-zetec-hatchback-5dr-petrol-manual

I don't recommend it to those of more 'mature' years. I was 67, the builder guy 66 and Mrs D was err......over 50.This is why I don't watch the 'Homes Under the Hammer' type of programmes. Some jobs are not to be taken lightly, and that's one best done by the pros, who'll be much quicker. We were lucky; it didn't rain!
We might not make 15c here, but I'll be happy if the double figures we've been promised materialise. Today was hideously cold with the keen east wind 2p mentioned. I planted out more winter salad in the poly, and cut the rest of what's already grown. Might get one cut a week now if the weather warms."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Can i ask you gardeners a question ,i planted tulips in pots to hopefully flower in spring ,put the pots in the greenhouse for protection from the winter .
Noticed today they are growing ,stems about 1 inch out of the soil ,do you think it is too early to put them outside yet? We live in the NE of England and still get an occasional frost3
