No sun here @Farway - it looked like it was thinking about it earlier, but obviously gave up the fight. Still 17.5C, but dull.
I had to take the car out for some exercise today, and fill it up, so braved the DIY store and bunged a few more bales of compost and farmyard manure in the car. I'd hate to run out over the bank holiday when I'm hoping to get some outside jobs done, despite the dire forecast.
Same here, the promise fizzled out, but it's warm anyway

Luckily I went outside to pick a delivery up from the doorstep and realised how warm it was so opened the greenhouse before heading back to the salt mine for the rest of the day.. .

The sun did shine hazily at Rosemoor this afternoon, where DB spotted an orange tip and I managed to catch it on camera as it visited a pulmonaria:
We managed a complete circuit of the gardens for the first time in ages and also visited quite a few garden rooms in the central area, including this colourful part of the Plantsman's Garden. (Weren't quite a few plants persons women? :o )
No wind here, which is most unusual. The turbines were stationary on the way home. Glad we've made the most of this little taste of summer in spring. Doesn't look so great for next week! :#

by the time I'd dealt with all the business that's piled in end of month and opening up just went for a walk in the warm while we've got it.
Only work in the garden was to yet again zap this weed in the lawn. It's crept through most of the grass in just one season and int he veg beds too. Grows from bits of roots so no point in digging it up. Thought I'd go it all but it's tough, miss one leaf with the spary and it regenerates. Covered the treated bit with netting so the birds don't go on it. I'll do another bit tomorrow.
Saving most of the rest of the work for Easter when it will be too busy to go anywhere.

Unremitting rain for us yesterday, but looking much nicer for today.  Clear frosty start, with ice on the car and a lot of new snow on the hills, but forecast to be sunny and expected to reach the dizzy heights of 8C!  :)   Garden waste bin will be emptied this morning, so no excuses for not refilling it!

Finally got the first day in 4 months to take a day out with a picnic and it's thick cold mist and an easterly wind!
Envy your outing dave. Feeling sad that we won't have our village gardens open again this year.
If the weather doesn't improve it will be a duvet day today. Can't go from 25c to freezing.
On the plus side all moved plants were watered and fed yesterday and hope the cool will help them.

Cold wind today, with not much sun. I'm leaving the young plants inside today, there's a difference between hardening off & killer winds
Sowed the runners this morning after they had overnight spell between damp kitchen paper.
This year's variety is Firestorm, from T & M on £1 offer at the time and I was panicking about lock downs & not getting out for seed mooching, which as it happens turned out to be true
They are big seeds so hopefully the pods will reflect this come July
Now the onions are up everything, except the new runner sowing, is on the window sill or in the conservatory, it's that time of year again but I think I'm about done with sowing now & it's nurture & potting on next

I'll be taking some Russian Giant sunflower seeds over to the grandchildren's tomorrow, outside garden meeting of six, hopefully swap for some hot cross buns

Gosh it's a cold wind outside this morning, only the peas put out for a bit of hardening up, I'll coddle the cosmos & nasturtiums today and leave them in the conservatory
The lily beetles reappeared but this time I gave them & lilies a spray with ?? which is supposed to be systemic so hopefully any further bites will be lethal to the red devils
Of course now the cold wind has arrived, with snow threatened for Easter Monday my plum blossom has opened at last :'( , not all of it just yet thankfully

Very nippy wind outside, so the tasks of hoovering or lawn mowing will be allocated according to how much it warms up. :/
Yesterday was food shopping, but I nipped into B&Q for 250l of compost in anticipation of several days hiding in the polytunnel! I also bought some tomato seeds in Lidl, because there are bound to be some people who say "WHAT? You're not selling plants any more?"  despite us having a notice up for most of last summer. :s
I saw a lily beetle in Rosemoor, but I thought  they could probably cope with it. I also enjoyed seeing how much seeding hairy bittercress thy had around. o:)

Thank you Davesnave I now have a name for the bane of my life. Spent hours yesterday taking it out and more today if sun comes out, currently 2 degrees and I can't weed with cold hands.
