NatWest HTB ISA closing trouble

Hi there, having some problems with my HTB ISA and wondering if anyone has been in this position before and can advise. Due to complete on 9/10. Went into branch on 21/09 and asked to close HTB ISA. All was fine and they said if I don’t get the closing statement within a week to come in again. No closing statement and bank account still open with funds in it on 30/9 so returned to branch. Was told it takes 5 working days from when the request was received. Apparently even though I requested in branch on the 21st it didn’t process through their system until the 23rd so she said to give it another day. Went back in today (1/10) and was told that it was probably just taking longer than usual but that they would email the closing team to ask. I then rang NatWest to see if they could tell me anything further. Apparently there was a problem with my signature so they sent me a letter on 30/9 about this and couldn’t close it (presume the letter will arrive tomorrow). Was told I had to request the closure again and would take 5-10 working days to get closing statement and transfer balance. Explained that I was on a tight timeframe and so they put it through as an urgent request but said there is still no guarantee it will be done in time. The branch said that when it’s closed they can request the closing statement via email and print it for me so I don’t have to wait for the post, but I am more concerned about the account not being closed and the funds not being transferred in time for the closing date. Does anyone have any advice? Other than starting this process 2 weeks earlier!

Entry date is 9/10 so we are really pushing it! Good to know the solicitor can process it quickly, just worried about things being held up on the bank’s end now!0
