  • not yet it's part of a larger bathroom renovation, not spoke to the company yet only, for over £300 I was expecting an exceptionally good job.
how detailed should I go besides stating the obvious bad workmanship?

I would have expected it to be toothed in for a start. Also I would want a bricklayer to rebuild it. When you put a new window into a wall, it's not easy to get it so it the new work can't be seen on close inspection, but it should be a much better job than that.
I always make an attempt to colour match the mortar and pointing style.
From the photo I would say that bricks known as Pre war commons would be a better match.

  • they have already plaster boarded the bathroom. I am curious what the inside brickwork is like, if it's like that is on the outside

    Couldn't be a lot poorer.
  • Hopefully the outer skin can be redone without damaging the inner work.

I guess that's what happens when a bathroom fitter tries brickwork! And is he doing anything about the window in regard to regs? I mean, what are the chances of him being Fensa!

I wouldn't be happy with the brickwork, or the lump of foam filler below the cill.  What a shocking job.
