Thanks for that, just wish it was made clearer for us who have never had to claim for anything. The test will be when I apply for benefits now!

If your employment ends 9th October then the maximum claim for the 20/21 year is £162. There is just under 27 weeks from 6th April until 9th Oct. So 27 X 6 = 162
So as a 20% payer, saving 32.40 or as a 40% payer 62.80. but pro-rata.
