Roof tile paint recommendations

Hi,
As the title states can anyone vouch for a good quality roof tile paint? The tiles are old & have been painted in the past. We’re looking to try & get another few years with some pointing, cleaning & painting.

Has anyone tried paintmaster? They seem to have their own brand & it is reasonably priced at £50 per 20ltr acrylic based.
Any advice please?
Many thanks in advance

Anyone at all painted a roof & can recommend paint?
Many thanks.0 -
I've been doing this for 20 years. I have never painted a roof or known anyone that has painted their roof. It's not a thing because there's no reason for it. You can thank the previous owners for creating a rod for your back. Seems like a waste of time and money.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

As per the above - roof tiles don't get painted. For what it's worth, Doozergirl is our resident expert in all things building-related, trust her advice :-) If the old paint is looking tatty and a bit of an eyesore, you could perhaps get up there (or get someone up) to scrape it off (wire brush? I'm not sure). But there really is no need to be repainting the tiles - or to be painting them in the first place at all.

My neighbor painted his, 2 years on and the litchen and moss that is prevalent on the neighborhood houses will make his look worse shortly. When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0

I have tiles on the side of my house and you either need to paint them or pressure clean them to keep them looking good.
We painted them a couple of years ago first time in over 30 years they had been done with the red version of the Wickes Brick and Tile paint.
Covers well and looks good

Although as others have indicated rather strange to paint a roof but my neighbour had his done a few years back then had it sealed so nothing sticks to it.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -

Thanks ever so much for the replies people. I’d agree with not painting at all but we have inherited this tatty roof & want to spruce it up a bit plus my belief is it might increase the lifespan & help keep the old tiles watertight for at least a couple of years? Pointing & scraping the moss off is being done too.
100% trust Doozergirls advice but it’s purely for aesthetic reasons & hopefully to increase the lifespan by a couple of years.0 -
It won't increase the lifespan.As for aesthetics - for goodness sake, it's a roof!Leave well alone.1

100% trust Doozergirls advice but it’s purely for aesthetic reasons & hopefully to increase the lifespan by a couple of years. It does nothing, in fact, it does the opposite because it inevitably peels off and makes perfectly good tiles look odd, probably decades before their time is up.Please save your money for when you replace the roof. I can't imagine a freshly painted roof looking much better than a painted roof that is peeling a bit. Time, and a bit of moss will dull it down.Pointing is an obvious thing if it needs re-doing, but cleaning moss and painting is just extra work for the sake of it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
