Virgin media to freesat

Hi all,
I'm looking to cancel my Virgin Media and move to freesat to save money. We only watch free stuff, but do use the recording features of our tivo box.
Already have a dish (but no aerial) so looking to connect up to that and get a recordable freesat box.
The new freesat recordable box seems to have mixed reviews compared to the old Humax ones, although I've seen some comments suggesting they are resolving some of the software issues now. Anyone have any recent experience with this box?
