Free AppleTV Ap is offering purchases only

Options
Here’s a long shot. My wife has just purchased a new Apple iPhone via Car phone warehouse, which came with 12 months free ATV. Over the weekend we watched Greyhound as some may know a brand new film. We chose to have another look yesterday and everything we looked at was purchase or rent, including the old offerings. It seems ironic the new kid on the block was free, but the rest is chargeable. Are we doing something wrong?.

Maybe Greyhound was free as a way to pull punters in.
I cant say for sure as I don't have Apple TV.
  • Shoukd have said, I take it your logged in on the device ?
Do you know anyone else with an Apple TV who could tell you what its like for them.
  • Lol just had another look and for the US some shows were free so maybe as I said earlier the UK will be the same.

Didn't spend much time looking but its happened in the US so I suspect its same for the UK.

When I say happened I mean some content is free.
  • Oh well silver lining and all that. At least we got to watch Greyhound, a great watch by TH usual standards.

As above, the free offer is Apple TV +. Programmes like "The Morning Show", "Tehran", "Ted Lasso", "Tiny World" etc.there is a very limited choice(In my opinion). It isn't like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video where you get well known films or TV programmes as part of the subscription, it's all about "fresh" programming..
The app does list better known films & TV programmes but these will be chargeable via ITunes or Amazon Prime etc.
I also have a free 12 month subscription & have had it since April.
I've watched zero programmes up to now, for me there just isn't anything I would want to watch.
