can I use a BT Smart Hub with Shell Broadband?

Just wondering as I've heard the one you get with Shell has slow LAN speeds.

Most probably not. They usually only accept a bt or plus.net username. Sometimes you can use them just for the wifi as an access point but they don't always like it.0

So Shell Broadband ahs a £15 exit fee and allegedly a poor hub so why move to them?0
