Afternoon all,
Veg box was quite good today and I've made a roasted pepper/onion/tomato and garlic sauce to have with pasta tomorrow night.
I've made a big bowl of coleslaw, prepped lots of salad for tea (3 lettuces in the box!) will have with chicken that I cooked at the same time as I roasted the veg.
I've cut open a bottle of salad cream to get the dregs.
I've cut open the bottle of shampoo, at least a weeks worth left in the bottom!
I've meal planned/edited click and collect shop for tomorrow based on the veg box.
Exercise for free today was a walk around the block and a bit of time in the garden filling up the garden waste bags as its their fortnightly collection tomorrow.
@AdsWhoAdds Good luck for the exam results.
Thats about it for today. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning all
Just been out with the dog, quite pleasant out atm but we are forecast to get heavy rain later.1LL, isn't it annoying how the packaging of many products seems to be designed so that you can't get to use all of the contents? I cut open a container of moisturiser yesterday and there is enough for another fortnight's use in there
Didn't manage to post yesterday as I was rushing around in the morning and worked in the afternoon for a couple of hours. Felt a bit uncomfortable to be honest, in a mask, in a poorly ventilated little shop with low ceilings
I did manage to pickle a couple of jars of home grown jalapenos though. They look very pretty, don't know what they will taste like. Not done them before.Today's ambitions:OH's birthday, and he requested a batch of flapjacks, so I will need to make those - we don't really go in for presents much these days, apart from token things.I also need to make soup to use up some chicken stock. Leek and potato I think!Might make some scones as well.Sounds like a cooking day - will report back later on progress

Morning all,
@DawnW Yes the packaging thing really annoys me, dh wouldn't cut them open even after seeing how much is left which baffles me even more! ah well. Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling so comfortable in the shop. is it worse as the weather has turned.. thinking less windows/doors open... or busier? When you first mentioned about working in there you sounded much happier...
Today is a very wet, windy and wild day!
So far I've...
* picked up mr t click and collect and dropped my parent shopping to their door
* rung mr t to complain about short dates on a couple of items and celery that shouldn't have been picked as its battered beyond belief! Money for these things refunded and I will chop off the worst of the celery and hopefully be able to use whats left in stews if nothing else.
* checked off my banking and updated spreadsheet, just need one more piece of info before I can close off the September spreadsheet - I can't believe its October tomorrow (and my eldest turns 15 at the weekend!)_
Still to do today
* get last bit of financial stuff inputted
* last of the leek and potato soup for dh and I for lunch
* chicken dinner with loads of veg (all this is prepped) just need to make a big pot of mash to go with it again from the liddl veg box yesterday
* general potter around tidying as I go
* make sure dh re-books his flu jab - had to cancel at the end of last week as we were self isolating
* start looking at what our options are about selling dh's car - long standing members of this thread will know that we have a 2-3yearly battle with him changing cars.... this was due to happen around Easter but covid has changed all this. Pretty certain that he is going to be wfh on a permanent basis so he's suggested going getting rid of the big car and keeping my small car (at one point he was thinking part ex both cars and get a medium car to share) The car is taxed/mot'd/insured til April so not in a great rush but want to see what we can do.
Take care one and all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
