Going abroad for over 4 months what to do about OTP mobile SMS text

Hello all,
I am going to Spain for 4+ months, my current contract is all okay for roaming abroad, I do not need help with roaming charges etc. What I do need help with is that the Vodaphone service my contract is with after 2 months will shut off as I have spent all my time in Spain. I am not going for a short trip or short holiday they will suspend my account until I come back into the UK. I still have UK bank accounts that all use the text message OTP system, this will be a nightmare. I do not want to buy a local sim card as I may miss a bank or some other OTP needing service. Is there any way I can use my UK number abroad for a long period of time, as far as I have seen all providers for roaming all have this 2 month or 3 months cut off and start suspending mobile service?
Thank you

From my experience they don't actually cut you off or even suspend your free roaming immediately after the stipulated two or three months (and put you on a regular roaming tariff), and even if they do the latter you can still receive SMS without charge.

Although I have a local SIM and rarely use the UK SIMs I have (EE, Three and O2), I've been in Italy all this year and none of those SIMs have had their free roaming suspended so far. So Vodafone may be similar.

Are there no issues regarding German entities having to pay international charges to contact you in Germany on your UK phone number..?
