    It's a total rip off.  I'm paying 12.11343p/kWh, SC 13.2825p/day inc VAT.

    Thanks Gerry1

Are you on a 3 rate tariff? If so your rate is lower.

Because it's an ordinary run of the mill single rate tariff; Neon Reef don't offer anything else.  It just happens to work out cheaper than anyone else's; many suppliers are happy to make single rate available to customers with meters with dual registers.  If the useless Ofgem were any good they'd mandate all suppliers to do so.

That seems a bit odd as when my stepdaughter was on Superdeal (in the flat she was in until July) her rates were different for each of the 3.  This was on an SSE 2 year fixed Superdeal taken out in Aug 19.  From memory the rates were something like 17.6p day, 11.5p night and 8.9p stored.

Looking at the current Superdeal rates they should still be different for each one of the three (although higher than what she was on) so not sure why your friend is being charged same rate across all three.  The rate you quote sounds like SSE's standard variable rate so did your friend (or maybe the previous occupant) request to be moved onto the single tariff as that is offered now (although the meter still shows the three readings).  As Gerry says it might be worth them seeing if Neon Reef will take on this setup on their single rate as in Southampton area their tariffs are even slightly lower than those Gerry quoted.

    Hi,
well if he agreed to this tariff, '1 Year Fix Super Deal (1 rate)', then that's what he's on, but why sign up for it if he has storage heaters?

It's a ridiculously expensive tariff even if he only uses it for lightbulbs !

She  :) uses LED bulbs. Would that be more ridiculous🤔 :D ?

My friend agreed to a "Super Deal" tariff during a telephone conversation with SSE late 2019.
I was shown the latest letter from SSE requesting a call to arrange the 2020 - 21 tariff which resulted in my  OP.

4 HHR heaters - all electric flat. Always had off peak heaters and years with SSE.

Hope the above adds to my first post. :)
