Does anyone think that it might now be worth appealing to the IAS ?
They must now be concerned for their jobs as there is not going to be two appeal services under the new CoP.
There are also not going to be a full staff at the PPC's offices and some of them seem in disarray at the moment. Having to respond to the defendant will just cause them more hassle and they may not even respond which means the PCN is cancelled by default.
It's just a thought and I realise that it is usually a total waste of time.

Probably not because their so-called adjudicators only uphold 5% and I can't see that changing much.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The IAS is run by Hurley maybe with help of Davies
Apart from an invisible adjudicator, you don't need any staff to say NO. Anyone can run the IAS scam from home whilst watching Corri and Emmerdale during the ad break.
With the new CoP and appeals service the great Gladstones/IPC/IAS scam will be history and as Bargepole said a while ago, they will be available to see in Chester zoo where suitable food will be served
There is no incentive for a PPC to be a IPC member unless of course they have a fetish to be slaves to the incompetent Gladstones. THE SCAM WILL DIE BUT, NOT FORGOTTEN and their will be room for claims, just like PPI

What prompted this post was when I saw on painbl's post (see below) that a judge had phoned Excel on several occasions and they had not answered so the case was struck out. If they can't be a--ed to answer a call from a judge who is going to be hearing a case that they have instigated there cannot be many staff left to deal with issues. I bet SRS has them furloughed rather than WFH. They must be haemorrhaging money at the moment.
If at present someone appealed to IAS the PPC has to present a prima facie case with evidence, etc. That will take time and I wonder if there is staff available to deal with these appeals at the moment. If they don't respond then the appeal is held.
I made the mistake of appealing to IAS and whilst it was a waste of time admittedly, I wasted an awful lot of the PPC's time batting back and forth. It was like a game of tennis. After a number of exchanges between myself and the PPC as to who would have the last say they eventually gave up and the case went to the adjudicator who turned down my appeal. No surprise there.
Whilst I totally agree that it is usually a complete waste of energy and effort to appeal to the IAS we are in unprecedented times and are likely to see the folding of some of these companies soon.
"Afternoon all. Just received a call from the Judge at the County Court. She said she tried to call the claimant 3 times with no response, so has ruled to strike out the case. Although she said that if the claimant has valid reasons as to why the the calls could not be answered then the claimant could bring the case back before the court. Have to admit, it feels like half a victory at the moment!"

So, I will definitely be appealing to the IAS when I next get a PCN 😀
Also had confirmation from SRA that it is sending an employee into Gladstones. If you detest this disgusting ‘outfit’ as much as I do, do not forget to complain toReport@sra.org.uk
It does not have to take lots of time or be perfect. Just do it (please!).3 -

Hurley’s argument was that I had not gone through the IAS and if I had he would have dealt with the operator.
And that will be a "get well soon" card and a bottle of wine ?
There is no incentive for Hurley, very soon the IAS will be a dodo and the IPC will be confined to scammers
Given the government know about the scam why is the IPC/IAS still around ?
