    Rebook next year.
If you say you have no holiday for 18 months, seems you are more of the problem than them.

If you booked this during the pandemic you should of taken the advice and not booked anything while a global pandemic is taking hold.

You can do a chargeback not a section 75
  • A chargeback would rightly be refused. If the OP has no travel insurance to claim off and refuses to re book then he will lose his money. This thread can now be closed. Thank you.

I'd send a "Letter Before Action" threatening legal action.  It seems quite clear that you're entitled to a refund.

Can I suggest that whatever course of action you take, that you do it without reference to the post above,  timed at 8.07 pm.

We would if we could but have no holiday time left until April 2022.  And as the law seems to state we are entitled to a refund as the contract  simply cant go ahead , its all the more frustrating . Many businesses are refunding without issue  due to the lock down  in fact our Brewery tour was refunded the very next day no problem at all
You have no holiday left for 18 months? How?
My suppliers expect me to take all of them next year - my employer has a different view.
Your employers "view" is in breach of employment law. Something is amiss.

If the booking was non refundable as opposed to flexible and they have been offered a credit note (which they did not have to do) then a chargeback will be refused. Bye.

Legally, what you are entitled to is quite clear - the hotel is refusing to provide you with the service you have paid for - as you are not local, and they have stated they will be looking ID. You are therefore entitled to a refund. However - how much do you want to argue this?

OP - how far do you live - is it feasible to travel and be turned away, then argue your case for a refund when you get there?

The rate being non refundable is irrelevant - the hotel is saying they will not provide you with the service
