  • Didn’t know this forum was full of ‘I told you sos’ and so many believers in MSM! Was asking for advice from people who know or have experienced what I asked - I don’t want to go to Australia anyway but at the time of booking I felt the need to go due to having Kids living there and their circumstances back when I booked! I dont need ‘advice’ from irrelevant people!
  • If you do not wish to travel then you'll just have to accept the conditions of the ticket that you purchased.
Covid tests and Fit to Fly Certificates are readily available.
If you are fit enough to travel to Australia then getting the required test and documentation should not be outwith the bounds of possibility.
You either do the necessary or suck up the cancellation cost.

Have you looked at the costs of changing your flights? how long is your trip for - you will be stuck in mandatory quarantine in Sydney for 14 days on arrival (at your cost)
    https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/travel-restrictions
"All travellers arriving in Australia, including Australian citizens, must quarantine for 14 days at a designated facility, such as a hotel in their port of arrival."

You asked for views and you are receiving them.

If you only wanted views that were aligned to your way of thinking and for replies only if in agreement with you that you should have the option of a full refund on your restrictive ticket purchase then you should have said.  If you just wanted passive remarks and sympathy I can put the kettle on and get out the chocolate Hob-Nobs.

Surely far better to get a more rounded view of open opinions as to whether you have a case or not to seek a refund?

OP, are you ok hun? Big hugs babez xxxxxx
  • I agree @Westin, same as usual on here !
The OP booked in July, months after the pandemic started and if they had any doubts should have booked a fully refundable ticket direct with the airline.
£1500 for two people through a third-party is cheap as chips and would obviously be a very restricted ticket.

I booked two return flights from London to sydney back in July. At the time of booking there wasn’t  any covid testing rules in place. The airline (etihad)  have now introduced a new policy making it mandatory for everyone to have a covid test 92 hours before flying. For me it is almost impossible for me to have this test due to many obstacles and I would never have booked knowing this. The tickets  are only refundable for the taxes so  I stand to lose almost £1200 on two tickets and only receive £328 refund (tickets were  £1500 the pair). How do I stand on this - it’s been almost impossible to talk to last minute.com and they don’t have any answers and impossible To talk to anyone in etihad. I feel I should be awarded full refund due to the enforced changed policy. Any advice or anyone experienced similar? Thx
Where's the stop over en route?  Unlikely to Eitihad's rule.
