    So is it worth bothering AE and just delete the posts?

    It would be 'friendly' to tell AE about the mix-up. It will probably save somebody somewhere some inconvenience and confusion (maybe, for example, an elderly person, who's not very good at remembering their email address or mis-typed it, etc).

    I'd guess AE would temporarily stop sending emails to the address, and send their customer a letter asking them to confirm their email address.

    It's difficult to see how this could be related to any kind of identity theft or fraud. If somebody wanted to carry out a fraud, they would set up their own freebie gmail address, rather than use yours.
