Low standing charge supplier/tarrif

Options
At the moment I'm with Ebico and getting switched to B.G.  I've used Ebico no standing charge as I usually travel abroad for a fair while.  With the Covid situation it looks like we will be stuck here until early next year so  a cheaper tariff  is needed with a low standing charge. Any suggestions?
We use gas heating most of the day.  Is there a spreadsheet of suppliers charges so I can compare them myself?
Ta.

It is a waste of time looking at supplier's charges without considering their rates, and AFAIK there isn't a widely available spreadsheet providing such information..
Go onto one or preferably a few comparison sites and put in your actual annual usage in kWh (work it out from your bills if it isn't stated), then see what they suggest. Ignore the suggested "savings" as they are utter rubbish for anyone not on a standard tariff, just look at the predicted cost. As you anticipate using more for the next six months or so, the predicted cost will probably be a bit low, but it's a good starting point.
If you don't use electricity for heating or hot water, then your usage over the last six months should be a reasonable indication of what the next six months will be. If you have gas heating and hot water then obviously that cannot be compared in the same way, but maybe you can get an idea of winter monthly usage from a billing period last winter when you were present?

  • I've gone with Yorkshire Energy.  Fixed but not tied in. Typical charges but the gas standing charge is only 6.6p/day - lecky is 21p/day.  I won't know if I have struck the right balance until this time next year.

Sounds like you might do better with separate suppliers.
