Bensons for Beds - Simba Mattress

I bought a Simba Mattress in March 2019 for £650 from Bensons for Beds. The mattress comes with a 10 year guarantee. After one year the mattress is showing deep depressions on either side with what feels like a ridge running down the middle. Whilst sleeping in the bed alone if almost feels like I'm being tipped over, despite following instructions re turning the bed. I am aware that this problem has been reported by many Simba customers upon investigating my problems. Due to the Pandemic and being classed as vulnerable (asthmatic), I was not able to visit the store until the lockdown eased (although I had raised the complaint on Resolver with Simba), who advised that I need to raise the complaint with Bensons for Beds as this is who I have the contract with. In the first year, the mattress was awesome and I began to wake with no pain. After one year the mattress is very uncomfortable and I often wake with terrible back and neck pain. They have agreed to send a Home Care mattress inspector FOC as I raised another complaint via Wish. I understand via my investigations that these inspectors have been sent to many peoples homes who have reported the same problems as me and the report has been returned with NO FAULT. I would also like to report when they tried to get me to pay for the bed inspector I was not able to choose one myself, they provided me with 2 companies with which they would only accept a report.
I have the inspection on 5 October 2020 but fear the report will be lodged as NO FAULT as other customers have reported.
Due to the mattress having 10 years guarantee and the fact that I wake in pain every morning and my husband is no longer sleeping in the same bed as he feels it too uncomfortable, if the report comes back with no fault, is there anything else I can do to get my money back?

Commission your own independent inspection and if it shows an inherent problem with the mattress's construction, you can set it against the first report (assuming that shows no fault) and exercise your consumer rights with Bensons.0

Two elementsOne Guarantee , that depends upon the terms and conditions of such from Simba .Two the law your Consumer Rights against the vendor .After 6 months its normal for the vendor to require an inspection as CR allows .Money back no any decision vendor has the choice to replace repair or refund less % for usage .You are going to have to wait and see what the report states .Of course the web will show all the negatives as nobody reports positive outcomes .0

Hi Duranfan20, how did you get on? I’ve had a similar problem, and really disappointed as it wasn’t a cheap purchase. We’ve got an inspector coming round next week.0
