TalkTalk can’t provide fibre broadband at new address

I’m moving house next month and TalkTalk gave said they can’t transfer my fibre broadband at my new address, as it’s not in the area.
They will downgrade me to fast broadband, will waive the £60 “home moving fee” discount my package (didn’t say what to) but I gave to take another 12 contract but it’s not enough speed for me and my family. They want £78 if I cancel can I get this waived if they can’t provide me with the service I require?
Thanks
Emma
Thanks
Emma

EmmaIn a nutshell, not the provider's fault you move to an area that they can't supply fibre to for whatever reason. The £78 is presumably a cancellation fee for your fibre?0 -
AFAIK it's BT that does all engineering aspects for TalkTalk - they won't have the service you want either ?

Double check your postcode in a BB deal checker just to make sure .0

I would assume if you can't get Fibre broadband from TalkTalk you won't get it from anyone using the Openreach network, but you can see all the providers here if you want to check
https://www.openreach.com/fibre-broadband/fttc-providers
If none of them can you can see if Virgin Media offer fibre, or any other fibre to the premises suppler.
How long is your currently contract? I would assume £78 is just 2/3 months of the existing contract?0 -

Basically, it's your fault these charges are being levied, so you have to pay.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Have to agree, by moving , it’s you that are changing the existing contract, TBH, most addresses have Openreach availability, and TT consume OR products, so in the majority of cases you can move your TT service from one address to another ( probably accepting a new minimum term ) but the choice of products may not be the same ( FTTC may be at the old address and not at the new for example ) but saying the speeds on offer are not the same , doesn’t remove the ETC obligation you either take what they offer , or pay ETC and look at another provider, but if the other providers can only offer what TT are offering , then the ETC needs to be taken into consideration, for example , no point paying £78 ETC and taking the same speed from someone else on a 24 month deal for £2 a month saving0
