How to stop notifications of new posts on a specific thread?

I've contrubuted to a thread, now every time someone else contrubutes, I get an email notification.  I'd like to stop this, as it's a very active thread.  However, I don't want to stop ALL notifications of new posts on ALL threads I've contributed to.  How do I go about doing this?  It should be a very simple thing to do, but it's driving me crazy lol!

It can't be stopped for a single thread only, it's all or nothing. OR you could stop all notifications for threads you have participated in and then Bookmark any individual ones you do want notifications for.
Go to Notifications (bell like icon at top right of forum) then click on the three lines at the right hand side. Remove the tick against "Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in." in the email column. Then click the Bookmark button (top left) for any thread you want notifications from.

That's just plain stupid - unlike any other forums I'm aware of
