1899 on landline, need new Mobile. WHAT DO I DO?

Options
Think 1899 on my landline is absolutely great! Now been made redundant, losing my business phone and need to acquire one for myself.

Where do I start? Would like to take advantage of the override for either 1899 or another equally good deal.

BUT do I need a contract or does this also work for Pay as you Go? Whichever is the better deal.

Any help appreciated.

  • Couple of points - on the mobile - its really dependent on your type of use (heavy peak time/off peak, light user). A good starting point is

have some cracking deals on the Nokia 3100 with a combination of call packs (£50ish)- money back after two months. Only problem is that they are temporarily unavailable - they'll probably have more in shortly.

Another good deal is being offered by Onestopphoneshop - they'll give you a Nokia 3510i and 200 xnet mins and cashback, where you actually make a profit !

On your other points - the 1899 override works for either PAYG or contract - but on PAYG you'll probably be paying 20p+ a minute to access 1899.

One final point - if you're with BT its cheaper to use 18866 (1p connection fee rather than 3p with 1899).

Overall, your best bet would be to choose a provider that allows free calls to 0800 numbers. Orange.
