Just looked at Bumble, it's not free.
It is free, you have to pay to see women who like you, unless you mutually match
Thanks for the intro to Bumble, the "free" option is really just a teaser, I might as well sit at a bus stop and wait for the right person to pass by. Dating is a pro active activity and almost nothing in life is really free.
My credit card are processing a chargeback with eHarmony after I sent them copies of the T&C and my emails.
Back to Bumble and it's simpler, pay monthly, option.

Bumble certainly is free and you don't need to pay, my friend who met his partner on there never paid and they both matched up and she messaged first and then it went from there.
Yes they may want you to pay to see which women like you and other extras but I don't see the point. If you don't mutually match up with a woman and they don't message you then they aren't that interested and seeing that you pay certainly won't make them any more interested in you.

I agree online dating is a pro active activity but you just need to make sure you sign up to the top free sites/apps, put some realistic but good pictures on there, fill in your profile and go on there regularly to find matches and then it will just take time to find someone  who you match with.
Being on multiple popular sites/apps increases your chances far better than paying for one service.

    Hi,

I'm in exactly the same position as you. I'm going to start a chargeback today as well given how underhand the whole thing was. I wish I'd googled the cancellation beforehand. But then I didn't know that the amount of people in the whole of the UK would be fewer than 200! And when you take out the people with no faces etc., you're left with not many at all and certainly not worth the money.

Do you have any tips in regards to the chargeback or if you've received one?

You do know the OP/ eHarmony_warning hasnt posted since 23rd of september so your not going to get a reply.
What tips do you want about a chargeback ?

Sorry, I've been away from the forum. I initiated a chargeback which the card company upheld, E-Harmony kept sending me threatening emails and I asked them to stop sending them or I would consider them harrassment or send me a summons to go to court to dispute my fee. I've heard nothing since. In the wash up, E-Harmony refunded me half my fee because they said that was all they were liable for, in the meantime, the card company refunded the whole lot, so my experience with them has left me in profit. I'd say fight your corner with the card company, E-Harmony must rely on softer targets to earn their fees.
I also noticed they've stopped their UK TV advertising now.

I’ve just experienced the same issue after cancelling during the cooling off period! I even said revert me back to the membership as it’s just not worth the refund. I will look into a charge back, do you know if this will affect our credit rating at all?

Does a chargeback affect a credit rating, why would it ? A chargeback is an option you have when you pay with a credit card.
It cant affect a credit rating that only you can see.

Your credit history is what lenders, banks etc can see.

I meant would you get a bad credit rating if a chargeback is raised, but eHarmony are sending threatening emails??  Is this overridden by the chargeback?

A chargeback will not affect your rating, as I said your rating is only seen by yourself, your history is important here.
Be warned though, eharmony can have the chargeback reversed, your card comapny should explain this to you.
They can send emails, they can even send debt collectors to you or they might just not bother.
