PCP contract
Hi,
I signed for a brand new car in June 2020.

I signed for a brand new car in June 2020.
Via VW dealership. I got the new VW golf. Mk8.(2020)
since I got the car the infotainment system has failed twice now, I’ve had to book it into the dealership again this week.
since I got the car the infotainment system has failed twice now, I’ve had to book it into the dealership again this week.
Also, I got a letter from VW advising me to bring the car in for a different issue, they advised the emergency call system may be faulty from manufacture too, and in the event of an emergency the e-call button may not respond to first response.
These issues may not affect most people, however, it’s really annoying me, I’m paying a lot of money for this car, and won’t be tolerating this.
The cars very technical and digital, so the software is at times glitchy, the last time the infotainment dropped, they said it needed a software update!!
now, I’ve got an appointment on Tuesday with dealership, I’m really unhappy with this car. And I’m trying to get out of the agreement.

I know I probably haven’t got a chance of getting them to simply take the car back.
Bear in mind I haven’t even made a payment yet, VW paid the first three months, as part of sales agreement.
I don’t want to have to do this the hard way, Court etc....
I want to hand the car back.
I want to hand the car back.
I feel I’ve got a right, As there’s software issues.
I read on google and in the news there were software issues in many vehicles, it’s very common from manufacturers.
Now, If I have to I’ll simply return car, and cancel direct debit.
Has anyone experience of this?
I’m unemployed on medical grounds.
I feel this is affecting my health.

When were you made unemployed?

I’ve been unemployed since 2005 due to my disability, (I’m now 34).It’s not a Motability car. Thanks in advance0

OP - what would be your ideal outcome from this?
If VW take the car back, that will leave you without a car at all. What will you do then?0 -
The ideal outcome would be if they’d take the car back, and end the pcp agreement.I would then be happy to opt for a HP agreement, On a different car perhaps.0

As I understand it you have to give the dealership reasonable opportunity to fix the car before you can hand it back.0
-
So at most you need the infotainment system replaced and/or a discussion to check you aren't doing anything beyond its capabilities.0

I doubt you can return the car because the radio is glitchy.Sounds like buyers remorse to me.1

Yes I have a bit of remorse from buying this car I agree. I jumped into the deep end, too quickly buying this vehicle.I don’t actually mind paying £24,000 for a brand new car,However, not for one that’s gonna give me trouble. It’s more than the radio actually, it’s the whole infotainment system.Plus I was on a holiday the first occasion this occurred, And struggled to get home with no sat nav. (Just an example)0

Software updates are normal procedure for cars now. My car is far less technical than the new Golf but it still has a regular software update.0
