Help with sellers PIF form - noise complaint?

The time has come to sell our first house but we have some very confusing and utterly vague forms to out.
"Have there been any disputes or complaints regarding this property or a property nearby? If yes, please give details."
Around March time, I made a complaint to the council regarding loud music being played by a teenager next door. The Council were pretty swift and sent letters to the neighbour. His mum then resolved the issue by switching his bedroom over etc etc. The noise now is no where near as bad and the case was closed.
Is this something I need to put on the form or is it asking about the property itself, ie complaints about boundaries, parking etc.
I can't find anything online about disclosing noise which is now okay.

    Well, there have been. So you ought to disclose it. Though looking at it pragmatically, your buyers would only find out there had been previous complaints if there is a similar incident in the future.
  • If you do the technically right thing and disclose it, of course also add that the council intervened successfully and you consider it fully resolved.  
  • Yes you will have to declare it. 

    A lesson learned here though, it sounds as though just a neighbourly conversation with the mum would have solved the problem and no need for a complaint or dispute.

    Really? Where is the legal line drawn? My new neighbour had a delivery van that blocked my car in and I didn’t to go somewhere, so I politely asked for him to ask the driver to move it and they did, does that need to go on my form when I come to sell?!
    That was more of a complaint with the delivery driver, so no need to disclose.

    No it wouldn't, a heads up to a neighbour that their teenager's music is a bit loud, and then they get them to keep it down, is normal neighbour interaction and neither a complaint nor a dispute.

    My original post was sarcasm, based on a real scenario (sarcasm directly at the rule of law, not any posters here). If it was the neighbours van, are you saying it should be reported?

    Unless it has been officially been registered as a complaint with the authorities (council, police etc) then you don't need to disclose it. I had noise issues with my previous scum neighbours from hell but I did not say anything to them about it, nor did I report anything to the authorities because I knew I'd have to disclose a dispute when I sold. The law prevents people from doing something about noisy neighbours who are making their lives hell.
