Broadband speed

With EE and just changed from basic broadband to fibre, once settled, I should get 36 download speed and I know it can take up to 10 days to settle or so I have read.
Well I am just two days in and no change in speed at all, getting exactly the same as I had with basic set up 11 download speed.
Am I just being inpatient or should I have seen some sort of change after 48 hours?
Thanks for any advice.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Chino, thanks for your post, The only thing that makes me confused is the fact I had a text from a BT engineer four days ago saying he was sorting out my line at the local exchange so I thought it was sorted, may be not?I choose the rooms that I live in with care,

Don't know. It all depends on what instruction this Openreach person was given - which may not be what he or she should have been given!
Try looking on your router settings to see what it says about your connection type. For example, I'm on FTTC with BT so my BT Smart Hub reports my:- Connection type as "Fibre Broadband (VDSL)" (on the status page); and
- Modulation type as "G_993_2_ANNEX_B" (on the "Technical log" page).
