Freecycle how long to wait giving to the next one

Options
Put three pairs of curtains on freecycle and a few people respnded so offered them to the first who emailed, they asked if they could collect on Sunday, I replied with some times to choose from and also asked if they wanted to take them in a large box or bin bags, No reply so I asked again today, no reply so I asked if they still wanted them again no reply. Do I give them more time or offerto the next who responded now.

Send them a message saying you'll hold them for a couple more days and then offer them on to the next requester.

  • Your property so do what you like with them. They've obviously changed their mind so I'd just contact the next person.

Definitely move on to someone else, it is so frustrating when that happens, I am waiting for someone to confirm a collection, in the meantime I have reposted the item.

Just offer to the next person. If someone doesn't have the decency to reply there is no need for you to be loyal and keep something aside for them.

Unfortunately this is typical of Freecycle/Freegle.

I'm certain there were some people who as soon as an item was listed would automatically say they'll have it and then decide they didn't really want it or couldn't make a profit on it, so would ignore all attempts to contact them.

I would just say that as they have failed to reply, you have now offered it to someone else
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Best thing to do is ask for a phone number with reply to your offers.
That way you can contact them direct.

I respond to someone who shows some interest in the item.
    1. I'd like the (item)
    2. Some words about why they'd like it
    3. When they can collect.
People who just say 'I'm interested' don't have a hope! There are paople who claim everything offered.
If people don't turn up, it's difficult because there may be a good reason, so I send a message to them to say I'll hold it for 24 hours.
