Tesco won't let me book another slot

OP is apparently only able to adjust their current booking and not book additional like you are.
It's possible individual fulfillment stores are based on capacity either allowing or disallowing multiple slots, this is pure speculation on my part but just an idea as to an explanation 🤷

I'm convinced it's 'user error', not tesco changing its policy to something more strict than ever before - even at peak demand you could book multiple slots weeks into the future.
You're definitely logged in, OP? When not logged in the website looks very similar, but the 'book another slot' button that's usually on the right isn't there.
Edit: if none of my suggestions work, I will say that Tesco tend to be quite responsive on twitter - you could even dm them with screen caps showing the problem which may be easier than trying to describe it on the phone.0 -
I currently have four Tesco deliveries booked ahead at weekly intervals (every Saturday afternoon) and since we seem to heading for another lockdown I will continue to do this as far ahead as I can, I haven't had any problems, you cannot book two deliveries on the same day as far as I can tell, that's the only restriction I have noticed.0

The app does this to me if I've not yet checked out of my current delivery and paid. It only let's me change current slot or items. Once I've checked out it lets me book a new slot. Maybe you've not yet checked out and once you have the book another slot button should reappear.1

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/slotsthanks, that is helpful, because what it tells me is that if this isn't happening to you, then it's not happening to everyone and it's not just an "issue with the website".I've been through that page several times, and what happens is ... I choose a new slot, and immediately a dialog box comes up saying "Changing Slot ... Do you wish to proceed? THIS WILL CANCEL YOUR CURRENT SLOT." And buttons "Yes change my slot" and "No keep my current slot". This is all it offers me, regardless of what it says further back down the process.I've now been through this several times. I am not being offered any way of booking ANOTHER SLOT CONCURRENTLY - and yet up until last Wednesday, I, like others here, was being offered Book Another Slot. It's possible has has been suggested that I won't be able to book another slot till after my next slot is past, but why? That's not normal. No explanation from Tesco, though.

Is there a limit on the number of delivery and Click+Collect slots I can book each week?
Yes, we’ve introduced a limit of one order a week, which means you may be unable to see future delivery slots if you’ve recently made an order.

Thanks for letting me know the exact error message. I've been able to replicate this - you didn't check out the first slot, as Shooglepops suggested. Check out your first slot, then try again.0

I always check out right from the time I book a slot ... letme go and find out..THAT'S IT! THAT'S IT! it must have had me logged as not checked out, though it didn't say so. I went through the Check Out again, even though I hadn't changed anything, and it's now working again as normal. What is weird is that I have screen shots showing I went right through to checkout when I first booked the original slot, and haven't changed anything since. But I DID "look at the groceries section" while logged in last week sometime, and left without changing anything, but it must log that as a change. Thanks a lot for that suggestion, it's fixed it. I will know in future either not to "look round" while logged in, or that I will have to go through the process again if I do.Late for supper but happier

Glad you got it sorted. As usual, it's not Tesco being evil, it's a simple little mistake.2

I have not made any changes to that order to date, and as you know, you can't retain your slot unless you check out your first order within two hours. Since then I made no changes, so why does it think I wasn't checked out? I definitely went to look for something, but didn't find what I wanted, so I never put anything new in the basket. Also the New Slot screen said "as you are checked out, you can't change the address of the delivery" (which I was not trying to do anyway). But that tells me the system thought I was checked out. But "something else" in the same system thought I wasn't ... (But didn't tell me.)I think this is what they call a "glitch" but I am not going to go test if it happens every time you "look but don't buy". Any time I "go looking" on an order now, I will go through the Checkout process, even if I haven't added anything. It seems to require that.
