Hi There, can anyone help me with this problem please?
I purchased a Business BT Broadband and phone contract last Feb 20 for my new place of work which expires Feb 22.
This is a new setup company to which has fallen on financial difficulties and so we are not renewing our office tenancy this month, However we are moving to another property which has been offered to us but it is in a village location .
When I called BT to transfer to a village location they said that we would only get a "Rubbish" 4mb (their words)which would not be sufficient for downloads of drawings etc
but we could put in a personal line costing around £500 per month.
Now to the contract.. If we move the present contract would terminate and restart, but it would not be sufficient so I dont see much point continuing .
The exit fee is around £560 and because they can still provide a service be it "rubbish" I would still have to pay the exit fee if I decided to leave now.
My question is ...If I transfer and "restart the contract" I am presuming that my 14 day cooling off would "restart" ?
So if I found that it would take all day to download technical drawings could I then cancel with no exit fees?
Many thanks in advance.

If you cancel the contract at the new address, then you will owe the early termination fee from the previous address, which is waived if you transfer the service to the new address.1

Many thanks in advance.First and foremost, cooling off periods do not exist on business contracts. If saving money is the key aim, the simple solution is to transfer the service to the new address. You may get lucky and the line may be faster than 4Mb. Otherwise as in the T&Cs you agreed to, exit fees will apply. Simple as, unfortunately. You may want to check the availability of mobile services/signal in the new village.
