  • Can't remember who the account was with but going back a time HL had a savings account on offer with a higher rate if you logged in to your account and that got pulled before its apply date, but yes its not some thing that happens that often, but could.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

HL have been known to pull accounts before the apply date so the 30th is not a given.
Not in my experience, but times are different now and I have no reason to doubt what you say. If that happens does the start date change as well?

    Applied today anyway.

Paragon have pulled the account from their website. Going to be a Whack A Mole game over the coming months.
  • Oak north 1.31% also gone...........
  • Rather odd that an account provided by Tandem cannot be opened as a joint account. :)

Have gone with Aldermore, with whom I have another fixed rate account. Open an account now and you have 14 days to deposit further amounts.

Weirdly, Tandem only accepts one deposit over a 14-day period, not multiple deposits.  That can be a problem if you want to transfer more than the limit on individual transfers imposed by your bank.  I have gone with Zopa.

  • Here is what HL have, with Paragon highlighted.

Do you know if you can only make the 1 payment, or  do you get the 14days in which to make additional payments.  Just opened up an active saver,  but need to do some fiddling around to get money into account.  Do I need to wait until monies in active saving before applying?

Just cancel the application in HL and make a new one for the higher total amount.

If the money is not in the AS account you cannot apply for anything anyway.

You can instantly add funds to AS using your debit card.
  • Thanks everyone for your help,  account now opened.
After having received the TSB email regarding their 0%  interest rate from December  I emptied  our accounts and popped it in there.
Had been going to open  an OakNorth account, but their interest rates were cut today,   Also they are requesting info through the post.
So much easier through active savings,  Thanks pip895
