As has been said there are no gaurantees with PIP its very different than DLA, and you should never assume anything, and remember at the moment assessments are either paper based or by telephone neither of which favours those with mobility issues.
Because I assumed (incorrectly) that if I waited, and did nothing - I would hear shortly that I was being reassessed for PIP - But this has gone on and on and on for 7 years with no sign of any transfer - hence this decision !
As an after thought how old are you ?At the bottom of all letters when claiming any benefit it says "all changes must be reported" however, with a benefit such as PIP/DLA then this is obviously within reason. If we literally had to report ALL changes then backlogs would be insane. When i first claimed PIP my condition got worse about 6 months before my review but because i didn't want to risk losing what i already had i decided to wait. I went on to have my mobility increased at the review, so yes i lost money but that was the choice i made and i didn't miss what i never had and i don't regret not reporting the worsening of condition.
