50Twuncle said:Would you say that being given enhanced Mobility is less likely than being given enhanced Daily Living ?I have a Blue Badge - which may go in my favour - I have had it (after an assessment) for 6 years. That will totally depend on how your conditions affect you. Daily living and mobility are 2 completely different things. There's no harm in sending your BB as proof but it's unlikely going to help you.0

venison said:OP if your mobility has worsened over "the years" why haven't you reported this as a change of circumstance to the DLA people? As has been said there are no gaurantees with PIP its very different than DLA, and you should never assume anything, and remember at the moment assessments are either paper based or by telephone neither of which favours those with mobility issues.
Because I assumed (incorrectly) that if I waited, and did nothing - I would hear shortly that I was being reassessed for PIP - But this has gone on and on and on for 7 years with no sign of any transfer - hence this decision !

When filling out those forms make sure you put as much relevant information as possible, without telling them your whole life story. Use a couple of recent real world examples for each descriptor that applies to you, stating where you were, who was with you and exactly what happened.Do be aware that they very rarely contact anyone for any evidence, the onus is on you to make sure it's sent to support your claim.0

That's not quite correct. If a claimant is still claiming DLA and hasn't yet transferred or been invited to apply for PIP then providing they were under 65 on 8th April 2013 then they will be able to apply for the mobility part of PIP.

You are legally obliged to notify the DWP of any change of circumstance as and when they happen, i.e you improve/you get worse/you inform.50Twuncle said:venison said:OP if your mobility has worsened over "the years" why haven't you reported this as a change of circumstance to the DLA people? I stand corrected, I always thought you had to be in receipt of a mobility part of DLA/PIP prior to reaching state pension age for it to continue after reaching state pension age. Learn something new everyday.poppy12345 said:Dullville said:OP if your over the age of 65 don’t reckon there will be much hope of getting anything in the mobility side of things..

so you should have informed the DWP when you had a change in circumstance, not waited until you were migrated from DLA to PIP, they will not be thrilled when you tell them when your circumstances changed and that you didn't tell them.50Twuncle said:

Will they really care though? Unless someone hasn't told them they've got better, which is not the case. It's up to the claimant to make sure they're getting everything they're entitled to, including the right level of benefit for increased needs. Not sure the DWP will have a problem with not needing to pay extra for however many years because someone didn't let them know they'd got worse.venison said:
