Bed Linen

Where's the best-value place to buy bed linen, that strikes the best balance between quality and cost?
I made the grave error last time of picking up a set at the supermarket... Oh dear!

It's all about thread count, if you didn'tI'd say TK Maxx/Homesense but you must check thread count. And M&S - but rather than looking for pattern you look at the base colour ranges as they concentrate better on thread count.
know that, already. In general - the higher the better. I think 300 is my essential
aim. The higher you go, the smoother and colder sheets feel. The closer I get to menopause, the more I appreciate the value of even higher thread count.

Thanks Doozergirl.I was thinking, with the colder nights, of getting flannelette bedding. I'll look at TK Maxx/Homesense as suggested. Thanks.---

I've just bought bamboo bedding, after recommendation from a friend - it's fabulous, feels just like silk and is a dream to wash and tumble dry. Dunelm do a very wide range of bedding, from the cheap right through to the "Jeez, I can't afford that"

John Lewis's bedding is brilliant. There's a huge range, but the second from bottom is excellent value.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I didn't like Tesco or Sainsbury's bedding, but some of the Asda stuff is really nice.0

I recently bought a duvet cover set from IKEA and it was lovely. 100% cotton and really soft.
I'd have bought one for my own bed but they don't do super king-size."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Another vote for IKEA if you want to do it on the budget. Last year I bought a 100% cotton bedding set and it has been lovely. I'm not so sure about their 100% linen bedding (if they still do it), I bought a set for my mum as a present some while back, and it felt a bit flimsy compared to some of mine that have not been budget buys.0
