o2 sim deals (inc PAYG) and the UK-EU

Hi.

I'm on o2 PAYG at the moment and have been for a number of years.

I have been getting increasing amounts of offers by SMS these last few months. I was thinking about taking one up, BUT, the fly in the ointment for me is that I regularly spend time in the EU.

I have tried looking this up, but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if any bundled minutes and internet data will be included in those times when I am in the EU?

I won't be calling foreign numbers, just a UK number when I'm located in the EU. Also I would be accessing a small about of data whilst in the EU too.

If not, then perhaps someone could recommend a company/sim where this is possible.

Of course I'm aware that the dreaded B word could impact and change things at the end of December too.

If you regularly spend time in EU countries I'm surprised you haven't noticed that the 'Roam like at Home' regulations, now about three years old, provide for the same allowances, tariffs and bundles while roaming in Europe that you would have in the UK, whether contract or PAYG mobile service.

A text message announcing this is received on arrival and connection to a local European network.

Of course, after Dec 31st the requirement is no longer imposed on UK providers (except in the now unlikely event of inclusion in an agreement), so the situation could well change.
